Well that was random. I love Nina's expression in the first panel though; priceless.

Perhaps it's just me, but Nina's barfing looks like the way the fighters puke in Street Fighter II when hit particularly hard. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but...subtle nod to this week's big game release?

Great comic! Oddly, I can honestly relate to this. I loved the heck out of Gankutsuou but I was unable to watch more than one episode at a time because of nausea (the oversized tv screen probably wasn't doing me any favors, either).

If anything, this only further ENCOURAGES me to check out Gankutsuou!

Okay, truth in fiction:
Something similar happened to me after I watched the first episode on a sample disc. I thought it could be prophetic, so I ratcheted the show to the top of my "must-watch" list, blind-bought it, and never looked back. But yeah, I had a dream with Gank-syndrome as well after watching it. It doesn't really make me sick, but I can certainly understand why it would affect others in that way. Same thing with the podrace in Star Wars: Episode One on the big screen... |

I'm so glad I've already seen an episode of this so I knew exactly what they were referring to! I suspect if I had no I'd have been completely lost. Anyway, I enjoyed it. Kudos.
*edit* Also, I giggled pretty severely at trying to picture the barf falling in Gankutsuou-style. Hahaha. |

This is the best one in a while. Just those three panels of Nina moving Myoopi around capture the weirdness of it perfectly.

oh tats so weird I'm in the midst of watching gankutsuou, through netflix, wow if I hadn't suddenly decided to start watching last week the joke would've gone right over my head.

The joke ------> 0

Since Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Chowder of all things, do this as well, I've gotten used to it. First time I watched Gankutsuo though, it scared the crap outta me.

LMFAO Poor Nina. Well, she'll have to get used to it like the rest of us did. ^ _ ^

They do the same thing on CN's Chowder.

Hilarious!
I love that animation technique (or whatever you would call it). I remember seeing it a lot in Looney Tunes and stuff, whenever someone wore plaid. But absolutely nothing has used to the extent that Gankutsuou did. |
