How exciting. Nodame Cantabile is one of the only J-dramas I'll re-watch again and again. Glad to see it expanding the Paris chapter, which was very fun overall.

Speaking of those "white people," Frank & Tanya (played by Eiji Wentz and Becky), I hope these 2 have prominent roles in the films because, as I said in the thread about the anime's Paris sequel, I grew weary of the character of Nodame herself and I really enjoyed the "fresh blood" these new characters brought. I also want to see if something develops between Tanya (played by Becky) and the Rising Star oboe player, as hinted at in the drama specials.

This is AWESOME. *_*
I can't wait for more Juri Ueno and Hiroshi Tamaki goodness. I have to re-watch the drama inorder to forget about the Last Friends fiasco, which half the Nodame cast starred in. Gyabo~! [EDIT] Omg, that's Becky?! I totally didn't recognize her. Loved her in some of the episodes I've seen of Tensai! Shimura Dōbutsu-en. OH NOEZ! A live-action film adapting another manga?! The Japanese film industry must be bankrupt of new ideas!
Anyhows, 2 movies within 5 months of each other? That's worse than Kill Bill. |

Um the live action version was around before the anime and it won several awards including best drama http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Nodame_Cantabile Anyways all these new Nodame Cantabile announcements are making me so happy. edit: And I am guessing there are two movies because they can't fit the story into one movie without chopping it to pieces. |

well, hot damn! Nodame just keeps getting more and more attention thrown at it these days. I've never watched the drama (not so much a fan of j-dramas), but I can't fret the success that is Nodame Contabile.

This all just begs the question: when the heck are they going to license the anime and TV dramas?? I want Nodame Cantabile, dang it!

Well, there've been recent releases of the Nana and Death Note live action movies, and given the fanbase for Nodame, you'd think a company somewhere would consider bringing it over here. Though you're absolutely right that the anime is much more likely to be licensed. |

I see the Nodame Cantabile anime and J-drama as a risky investment state side. Its a great series and I love all its formats. Although I had to get use to the live action version. It's classical music which is a hard sell these day of ages in the US.
It's probably best for whoever buys the rights to release this series in bundles like they've done with series, like Ouran Host Club, that are moderately popular; but not Naruto, Bleach or Code Geass popular state side. |

that's so awesome. I enjoyed every single episode of the drama series and I'm sure those movies won't disappoint. The actors are really great as well.
I have a feeling that half-japanese-foreign actors are getting more and more common in Japan (usually those mixes are pretty good looking ). At least Becky is half british and Eiji half american. But seems like the only thing non-japanese about them is their look, I think they don't even speak english (Eiji for sure, Becky maybe) |
