I’m actually surprised they picked up “please put them on, takakime-san” I thought for sure Hidive would pick that one up.

Wow, Crunchyroll picked up Takamine-san? That's a surprise! I thought they'd moved away from ecchi titles since the merger.
Anne Shirley is getting a dub? That's surprising. I figured it would stream somewhere, but I didn't expect a dub. |

They got Takamine which means it'll be censored... sigh. One less series to watch I guess.
I really hoped they'd get Your Forma and Kowloon... wonder who got those. |

You can't generalize this kind of stuff with Crunchyroll, it always varies by show. The idea that they "moved away from ecchi" was just skewed fan perception based on circumstance, and mostly not backed up by fact. (Heck, them randomly uploading a hardcore ecchi like Manyuu Hikencho recently goes against the very idea.) As far as simulcasts go, they streamed Tales of Wedding Rings uncensored last year. So there's really no telling how Takamine-san will turn out until it goes up. |

I gotta say, after getting a news update seemingly every other day about Catch me at the Ballpark as of its a show anyone cares about, seeing not get a dub is kind of funny.

Yep! This is a title I felt would've had some broad appeal beyond the usual anime crowd, so I wish it was picked up by GKids or something, but if CR is gonna handle it I am pleasantly surprised to see they're giving it a dub, and will look forward to seeing what they do with it.
You and me both, brother. Summer Pockets is the first full-length Key visual novel to be animated in almost a decade, happening in a time when visual novel-based anime are slowly yet steadily making a comeback after being neglected by the industry for over a decade. But I dunno how much that comeback will last when publishers like Crunchyroll continue to treat them with little care like this. Summer Pockets is SUPPOSED to be a highlight of the season. If this were like the old days, every self-respecting otaku would be planning to at least check it out. Alas, it seems it'll end up just getting a brief simulcast run before getting ignored forever, with no dub or home video in sight... They even open their announcement tweet with the whole "From the creators of Clannad" line (because of course they'd do that)... So I dunno, how about actually treating it like something worthy of that tagline, Crunchy?! ![]() |

Don't know why, but it always seems that Crunchyroll announces their dubs without prior notice. Anyway, there were a couple of series that caught my attention and some of thems that I still have some doubts in regards to their Latin America Spanish dubs:
- Anne Shirley = I didn't imagine Crunchyroll was going to get it, it felt like something that Netflix or Disney+ would add to their catalogue. Still, it would be nice if the Latin American Spanish dub could bring some VAs who worked in previous adaptations of Anne of Green Gables. I wonder if the English dub will be made in Canada; - Black Butler = I really liked the Latin American dub Funimation made for Black Butler back in 2021, but the thing is that they only dubbed the first two season and its OVAs, last year Crunchyroll premiered the School Arc dub with the same cast that Funimation chose, but the thing is that season 3 and the movie haven't been dubbed yet, I don't know if there were some licensing problems during the Funimation and Crunchyroll merger, but it's weird that Black Butler's Neutral Spanish dub is incomplete. And the weird thing is that just three weeks ago Crunchyroll dubbed the first 13 episodes of the original Blue Exorcist anime, which was never dubbed into Neutral Spanish, many people think that CR wants to dubbed the entire series, so I don't know why they didn't do the same thing with Black Butler. - MHA: Vigilantes = many people in the Latin American Spanish fandom, including me, had given up on MHA having a decent dub. Only the dubs for the first two movies, which were dubbed before the series and with a totally different cast, are considered good dubs. Funimation's decision to dub MHA in Miami back in 2020 is still considered one of the worst dubbing mistakes from this decade, that's why many people hope that Vigilantes may end up being dubbed anywhere else except in Miami, though I doubt this will be the case. |

Most of the anime I was planning to watch are here; I’m pleasantly surprised with Guilty Gear and Anne Shirley.

Gag Manga Biyori is under REMOW, going to Amazon and their It's Anime channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgoZdvJ1z94 It seems they'll be streaming the earlier seasons too: https://x.com/ItsAnimeJP/status/1894688889899720786 Edit: Your Forma is also REMOW but they didn't specify platforms (probably the same as above) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5a-pGpLT4I |

I didn't know that, thanks for pointing it out. I guess there might be a chance then. It's a series that loses all reasons to exist if censored. |
