Even though it's only for 6 months, this is quite a big honor for Sanrio and the Hello Kitty brand.

This is a little weird. An airport named after Hello Kitty,a cartoon character. That would be a little strange,even if it were for just six months. It's hard for me to imagine it.

Closest thing I can think of is the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport but that's named after the comic artist behind the Peanuts comic

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot about Sonoma County Airport was named after Peanuts/Charlie Brown's creator. And it has a lot of Charlie Brown/Peanuts memorabilia in there to show off:







I'm sure little kids and people who grew up watching Charlie Brown will love this place a lot.

Wow,PipimiOden,mdo7. I didn't know about an airport in California that's named after Charles Schultz. You'd be right that those like me that grew up with this stuff would love this immensely. I'd enjoy it a lot.
