God, I hope this is better than the last one which was just atrocious. It had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I also really hope those sources aren't lying and they really are trying to be more faithful to the games because it'd be nice to have something that's really good. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy most of the ones by Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich, despite them not really being good movies, and also being pretty bad adaptations as well, But if they can be true to the games I think the film could be really good. Still, I don't really have much faith in them actually doing that given Hollywood's track record.

Considering Netflix already got themselves involved in production of the atrocious piece of garbage known as Resident Evil live-action series that already shitted over the source material all over the place, and which was unceremoniously got canned after the first season despite the very clear trying to make long-running show out of it - it's already funny to see them trying to take on the franchise again.

But seriously, at this point the only save for the franchise outside of gaming is somehow get the rights off from the Constantin Film execs hands - because at this point they are the main source of it's ruin.

Both of the director's previous work (Barbarian and Companion) had positive reviews and are also Horror Movies so there might be a change now.

Well, this time Playsttation Productions are also involved so maybe things could be a little different.

And if not, there's always the animated movies.

Well this is the same company that's trying Death Note again with the Duffer Brothers, so clearly they don't mind taking another swing at it. That said, after all those blah Paul Anderson movies, the awful Welcome to Raccoon City, and that terrible Netflix show, I think everyone's question is "Why?"

Do these people really need it explained to them?

If at first you don’t succeed…..

Actually have some hope for this one since you got an autuer, instead of someone hack studio director as the previous ones had. Just going off of Barbarian, Zach Cregger is perfect for matching the tone of the games, especially with him also writing it.

Don't forget about Money. Say what you will about the RE movies but for a long time they where the highest grossing Video Game MovieFfranchise of all time, not to mention that the games are still incredibly popular.
