Quote: | Since Kalafina's disbandment, all three have at some point collaborated with Kajiura again under Kajiura's FictionJunction music project. |
Correction: While KEIKO continued to be part of FictionJunction, and Hikaru started appearing in her lives as a guest vocalist occasionally, recently even filling for Kaori's absence because she's pregnant. Wakana has not been involved with Kajiura at all, in fact, at least publicly, Wakana hadn't been involved with any of them up until now.

Kajiura's message sounded very disappointed and sad, honestly. This isn't "Kalafina". It can't be "Kalafina" without Kajiura.

Just a nit: Kajiura isn't a "former composer." She just isn't Kalafina's composer anymore. (I think the agency owns the name.)

In this article, "Trio's founder, former composer" means that Kajiura is the former composer of Kalafina, not a former composer in general.

I hope that they return as a group again! Their songs are amazing and so beautiful!

I agree if they perform a bunch of new music that she didn't write, but if they're just getting together to perform their hits, Kajiura's absence doesn't affect anything.

Reunion concert is glorious but it is a shame nobody contacted Kajiura... Even just a "Hey, need that VIP pass?"
Ah, I've always wanted to see Kalafina but we accept some things in life aren't meant to be.

If they want to, they should just form their own group
They don't need anyone's permission to form their own group, and if they want to include their former composer in it, then who's to stop them

Is this like a label dispute thing? It seems weird that Kajiura would tweet like that when there’s (seemingly) no bad blood between her and the members.

If I remember correctly, Kajiura and the agency (specifically one of its producers) behind Kalafina have bad blood.

Kajiura did not renew her contract with an agency and went freelance because of the bad blood with her new manager if I remeber correctly. But as the agency owns Kalafina trademark, they are responcible for this reunion concert.

What a interesting surprise. 2 weeks ago, Aldnoah.Zero was announced to be getting a new 24.5 episode in its 10th anniversary BD in March. Seeing AZ news automatically made me sad because Kalafina performed the OP song for it. Now Kalafina are having an anniversary concert in January.
Quote: | Yuki Kajiura, the founder and former composer for the trio, made a statement on her X (formerly Twitter) account that she is not involved with the concert, and that she was not officialy contacted by any of the singers nor the concert organizer. |
Of course.
