I for one, sympathise entirely with Teru's fear of making phonecalls.

Haha, Ai is so horny! She's about as sheltered in that respect as a catholic schoolgirl cliche. That bath invitation very much didn't read as a naive "don't realise what I'm asking" thing. Good on Iko for turning up to stake her own claim.

Creepy Umbrella Kid is just so creepy! How do his own goons put up with him?

I definitely liked the second and third episodes over the first. The first episode felt like it focused too much on a character that I don't know if we'll see again, it felt like it was supposed to reintroduce us to Shy and maybe summarize the events of the first season, but it really didn't do that at all. The Second episode reminds me how much I with the Book Girl series got rebooted as a full fledge anime instead of an OAV, I really loved that series of books! The latter part of the second episode and the third feels like the true starting line for the next arc and I'm all for it.

For real. Introverts know that feeling. It's not even a fear for some of us so much as just an overwhelming feeling of discomfort and uneasiness talking to someone you can't see. Even ordering at a drive-thru, I'm so thankful for apps and curbside pickup! Laughing I recently realized I avoid calling out to people when their back is turned to me, it just feels weird.

This is a much better way of putting it.

Ai remains a massive flirt. She's great.

Whatever her relationship with Utsuro is (right now I'm betting on her being Ai's long-lost and/or dead twin)

This was my bet - dead twin. We saw in the previous arc that Stigma is capable of somehow reanimating the grievances of the dead to fill the ranks of Amawhatever, Ai seems to have a heart surgery scar, and Utsuro speaks of being an empty shell. Ai having been granted the heart of her twin as a child fits the shows broader themes on the nature and importance of hearts. It'd also explain a lot about Ai's discomfort with the way her village venerates and shelters her.

Piltz really doesn't pull her punches, but I guess that sort of uncompromising attitude is exactly what Teru needs. She's not coddling her, she genuinely thinks Teru is capable of the right sort of leadership (and I like her take on what this is - a good leader isn't the leader because they're the smartest, or strongest or richest or whatever. They're a good leader because they can draw out and focus the strengths of their team)

And Iko was sorta there. I like their relationship, but I do kinda wish they'd give Iko a bit more to do than stand around in the background being a devoted partner and emotional regulator.

If no one's gonna say it, I will: Mai/Utsuro is so edgy that the entire Uchiha clan should just tell her to chill.

I also like episode 2 more than episode 3.
By the time the 2nd episode came out I already learned to sing FATAL without effort, This is the second OP of Oshi no ko it happened with lol

Kufufu is my least favorite character in the series. I thought her antics were directly responsible for dragging out the Tzveta arc two episodes longer than it needed to be and I don't find her gags amusing at all. She kept getting in the way any time the characters were about to have a real, deep interesting conversation.

This episode is probably the first time I found her tolerable. As the façade breaks and she begins to actually open up a little, there was suddenly more to the character. But like the reviewer, the show doesn't allocate enough time to really let any of these pairings dig in and talk before jumping or chickening out (like with Mianlong). From the heroes perspective, this is an opportunity to resolve at least two of their opponents' issues and talking things out seems to be the correct intended counter for the kid organization.

I'm also curious what's going on with the angel opponent, since surely she has some reason for being in the organization, but I didn't see it touched on.

I agree with you, Steve. This series tiptoes around with the gay aspects always hinting, hinting and more hinting, but not quite committed. It's not like it's got to be anywhere near Gushing Over Magical Girls class-yuri, (my favorite in the genre) but if they went the cute route once in a while I'd become more attached with this series. It's not as blatantly hinted in the manga as I recall, only having read up to volume 4. The ending of the episode does make me a bit excited to see the male characters being utilized somewhat. We will see....

I got a good chuckle out of Piltz being too Tsun to be charmed...

Stardust's portion of the episode easily beat out the Shy-Ai-Mai segment this week. The sooner we're done with the self-aggrandizement surrounding this edgy-as-all-hell enemy who I'm still somewhat convinced is 50% Teru's dead older sister, the better.

The entire episode this week was fun superhero brawl, and it's so satisfying to see Stigma gets smacked down like that! Cool

And really, who expected that not only Ai would actually stab Mai but then gets fused into a evil sexy dual-sword-wielding kitsune?! Embarassed

I'm only going to be honest, I'm still enjoying Shy partially because it's filling the female superhero anime niche I've been waiting for. And frankly, I bet I'm getting that more out of Shy than say My Hero Academia.
