Well, that is good. I bought a Samsung TV on sale after my prior TV just died one day without warning, and I wasn't too happy then find out that Samsung used its own OS for TVs that didn't have Crunchyroll support. I ended up getting a Fire Stick, but being able to free up an HDMI port would be ok.

That's cool. Just need an LG app now, funimation had one so Crunchyroll has no excuse.

That's insane.
I've always had a Bravia and they get like every app under the sun, but Samsung have such a huge marketshare for TVs.
How did it take so long for them to get the app on the TVs?
Is it because it's a Korean company or something petty like that?

I can only imagine that it was due to Samsung using thier own Smart TV OS "Tizen" as oppsed to your standard Android type OS.

Yeah, that was the mistake I made. I thought that the TVs would be Android OS, like the Samsung phones, but apparently not.

This good news. I usually stream to my Samsung TV via a Chromecast, which generally works well enough but just recently it's been having issues with sound quality. I don't have issues with network performance on any of the TV streaming apps though, so hopefully this will resolve that and the general inconvenience of not being able to control the stream directly with the TV remote.

I've had a Sammy TV since 2016, so this likely doesn't affect me, but there is no shortage of other, better supported platforms to run it on. I learned a long time ago between Sammy's TVs and smart watches (which thankfully run Wear now) that Tizen isn't to be relied upon if you want something that won't soon lose features and will still work satisfactorily after a year on the market.

I just use my phone and cast to my TV using the app for both Crunchyroll and HiDive. Easiest way to do it.

I have a Samsung Smart TV, but it must be a slightly older model than the range specified her because I don't see the app available.
Which is a shame, because figuring out some way to get Crunchyroll to stream on it has long been a goal of mine.

Finally! My sister tried the Prime app on her tv but the subtitles are atrocious and the language selection glitches. Glad to be able to give her good news.

My Hisense comes with the "Google TV" operating system which used to be Android TV. It has all the apps that are available for my Android phone including CR and HIDIVE.
Pretty stunning TV, too.

Fire Sticks are dirt cheap at times. That should work. Other "stick" streamers too, probably.
...now just twiddling my thumbs until ANN covers today's big Funi/CR news. Hopefully the wait is to get more insight from the people in the know. The FAQ really glosses over some important questions.

Hope to see a WebOS (LG TV's) release soon too. If Funimation could get an app on there CR definitely should be able to also!
