Yeah, I’m hoping this won’t be the last time we see that giraffe. He was one of the more reasonable characters in this series
Lante really is a fun addition. I can’t wait to see more of him pissing off Anubis lol

I'm very happy this show is getting the weekly review treatment, it deserves more attention.

I'm loving this show more and more as it continues. Particular shout out to Leon, who is much more patient and considerate than you'd expect from his position as the huge, dangerous, beastly love interest. The series' vibes are way less Ancient Magus Bride and more Snow White with the Red Hair. Granted I made that connection primarily because Lante is so reminiscent of Obi...

Honestly the way the conversation was heading I was half-expecting Sari to recruit him into her Queen's Guard.
Lante is a good boi, especially for being able to shut Anubis up and swearing genuine loyalty to Sari.

Quote: | It's Lante who points out how odd Sariphi's situation is: she's a human marrying the beast king, her best friend is an alligator, her helpers are cyclopes, and her guard captain is a hyena. |
Sari’s sassy holy beast is also a “thing” lol

I'm glad they adapted the scenes with Illya, it was a pivotal follow-up to his previous scenes.

I think there was a mistake in posting the review, I looked all over but didn't see a single picture of Max!

Glad to get some more development between Amit and Jormungand. I'm really pulling for their ship to happen, they're probably one of the more likeable supporting characters.
Why do I get the feeling Set will be the Final Boss?
Illya's storyline was surprisingly sweet. The show has been kind of clear that the Beasts are pretty racist and speciest and that's part of the central conflict, but Illya, for all his prejudices, gets to see for himself how humans can be just as bad and that Beasts can be as innocent as he and his sister were. I think he's making good progress.
Also has anyone checked out the dub? It's funny how Satoshi Hino is just using his normal, deep, serious voice for Leo but Ray Hurd is talking like he's a full-blown feral lionman.

That is interesting voice direction from their respect directors. I like Ray Hurd a bit more since Leo is trying to act tough even though he is a big softy at heart so have him sound a like wild animal fits.

If anyone needs more must protect armadillo goodness, The Vampire Dies in No Time is right over there, just saying.
This one's really continued to grow on me as it's gone along, Lante's been a great addition and it was nice to see Ilya forced to confront his prejudices this week.

We went from a romantic cruise to Sari getting kidnapped and turned into a sacrifice by a Beast King yet again. I love how close Leo was to losing it, for once Anubis actually was a necessary figure here.
I was surprised the other guards on the ship didn't rat Sari out, but no surprise she stood up for herself to save everybody.
Looking forward to finding out Fenrir's history with Leo.

Maybe, it just feels a bit less natural compared to Satoshi Hino, but that's just my take.

Sariphi's fearlessness is interesting, it's a reminder that she's someone who once faced and accepted her own impending death. But she also follows her own advice and rather than seek death, acts for the goals (and people) she wants to live for.
At the same time, Leon may consider her to have changed everyone around her, and while that's somewhat accurate, it wouldn't have been possible if so many around her weren't either already seeking change or ready to embrace it. A nicely balanced cast. I'm even grudgingly starting to like Anubis, not that he'd be happy either to have a human fan.

The fight between Leo and Fenrir was as fierce and savage as a fight between beasts should be. A good end to this arc.
Looks like Set is the final boss.

After reading the manga, I was concerned they would water down the fight. I'm glad my fears were unfounded.
I know there are a lot of people who assume that Shojo anime don't have any teeth, that they're all school romance series. I wish those people would watch this anime.
