I guess the reveal of Fukuchi was kinda obvious by watching the opening from previous but him being Fyodor's superior sounds strange considering guy's skills.

You're really very good at this, you know.

This was probably the longest fight in the series... and brutal as heck.

Fukuchi’s ability is Jojo-level broken. Ridiculous
Now that most of the Port Mafia have been turned, I’m worried about Chuuya…

I have to say the time-space cutting sword is quickly turning this season into a chore. Ever since the Aizen fiasco in Bleach, I've had very little tolerance to this kind of invincible trump card villains, and I really, really hope we won't spend 8 more episodes of our heroes trying every interesting and clever plan in existence only for Fukichi to pull a "i cut through your past victory" every single time.

Enemies like this also make it harder to take any future enemies seriously or you end up with even more outrageous enemies.

That or you pull the whole Final Getsuga and your MC wins out of nowhere without any effort at all in the most anticlimatic fashion

Well the sword is only that powerful in his hands due to his ability. So while it is technically an invincible trump card, someone just needs to get it away from him.
or nullify his power somehow.
Anyways, curious to see how far this season takes us. My understanding is that this arc is still ongoing in the manga, which doesn’t give me a lot of hope things will get better before the end of the cour.

Tachihara tried that already. He got close, but still not enough.

In a way that this little girl managing to avoid being found by Fukuchi, stealing Bram and potentially turning him into an ally is a bit contrived, I do love how the villain's master plan gets (potentially) brought down by an innocent little girl who just feels indebted to Kunikida. I've found all the mind games and event predicting between Fyodor and Dazai to be just contrived nonsense. So I really, really wish that Aya's little adventure isn't another thing that Fyodor, Dazai and Ranpo just predicted would happen. If it's just good acts leading to more good that brings down evil and not super genius master schemes, I can really get behind that.

Agreed! I would love for the show to go the "being a good person (kid) makes the difference" route in this case. Granted, Aya is being SO brave in what is an impossible situation for a non-ability users, but the most important factor imho is that she wants to do the right thing.

I love the idea that an otherwise powerless girl is the one who gets in the way of a nigh invincible opponent, but I really want to know if there are limitations to Amenogozen's powers that prevents him from instructing his past self to check if there's someone hiding in the back room? Also Bra-chan (LOL) not alerting Fukuchi the moment she entered the coffin??? At this rate it was just pure luck that Aya got away and it's a bit frustrating to see in such a tightly written arc.

He explained that he and Fukuchi are not allies, but enemies, so it makes sense. Also he's pretty much detached and going with the flow until Aya persuaded him through the power of tears and music.

What did I miss that makes you say "nearly"? After Kenji's fake-out death gaze last week, I'm obviously not going to be the least bit surprised if Chuuya's not drowned, but I didn't catch any evidence of that outcome this week.

I was going with vampires technically being undead, so they can't be drowned. It's probably not great that I re-read Dracula recently.
