Awesome! I love the manga, and the anime is...meh. It really doesn't do it justice. Looking forward to this version, though!

Koyama launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in December 2016, and the series is ongoing. The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga award in the 65th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2020.

Never in a million years would I have guessed this comes from a shounen manga.

Each manga magazine has its own their own speciality, including Shounen Sunday. They often focuses on manga that are not too flashy like the one serialized on Shounen Jump. That's why manga like Detective Conan, Wild Life, Takagi-san, Wild Life, or Silver Spoon can success in this magazine.

If these title were serialized on Shounen Jump, it probably get cancelled already.
