Wait, what? Sorry if I completely missed some kind of joke you were trying to make, but the Idolm@ster anime was based on a harmless Xbox360 game, not a real-life sexual assault case. Rolling Eyes

Did anyone else read "Arts Vision" as "A.D. Vision" at first?

People are already discussing whether the game will release an adult version on computers.

At least she's safe now and remains anonymous. On the other hand, I'm more worried about careers of voice actresses of ARTSVISION, particularly Yui Horie. This could be (as we speak, already IS) much worse than Yukana @ Zeta Gundam movies. The key player here is Yurika Ochiai.

You might think I'm exaggerating, but this incident might shake the entire voice acting business in Japan.

didn't something similar to this happen to the guy that made the Dead or Alive series (yeah i know, shocking Rolling Eyes )?

i actually think he may not get prosecuted. sadly Japan tends to look the other way on stuff like this, especially when it's high profile.

It makes you wonder if this has happened to other voice actresses under Arts Visiion. It's sad though and this could make a huge impact.

There has been a lot of speculation on that. Mainly because of a blog post by a former ARTSVISION seiyuu which said something to the extent of "I'm so fortunate"... Dormcat goes into more detail on it.

Oh snap!

...

The guy's about to get his s*** ruined.

But yeah... uhh...

That's not cool... especially now that it makes you wonder if this has actually happened in the past...

I have a feeling more is gonna come out into the open; I wonder where it's gonna go?

He already pleaded for guilty; the news wouldn't be here if he was not prosecuted. The molesting happened four months before he was arrested; I'd say the law enforcement took their time collecting enough evidences before sending out the cavalry.

He is the vice chairman of Japan Entertainments Management Entrepreneurs' Association. I'd say the prosecutor already has sufficient evidences on hand before charging him with child molesting.

Well, in Idolm@ster you play "Producer-san" and the game play ACTUALLY lets your CGI character molest the CGI idols (whose ages are depicted from 12yrs and up). Plenty of youtube videos with vid caps of this.

Having said that, I'm a huge Free Speech advocate and in no way delusion myself to think that actual people are being hurt by playing Idolm@ster.
They're pixels on screen and nothing else.

As a Libertarian, I believe that you can live as you like as long as you don't initiate force, fraud or threat against another person or their property.

Obviouosly that scumbag at Arts Vision broke every bit of that statement and againsts someone very vulnerable and impressionable.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Japan has a 99% conviction rate...so this guy will be going to jail.

If the 99% percent conviciton rate seems odd, most incidents/crimes in Japan never formally make it through the court system and get deferred to mentoring and reform programs so there are not that many people in Japanese prisons.

Is there any more evidence than just a he said, she said? I mean does he have a history of stuff like this before, or least other girls saying that he has crossed the line of appropriateness before? Did she tell anyone immediately after this happened who will come forward and say that she told them about it?

I mean I am not saying it did or didn't happen. And I know it says he admits it. But in some countries it is easier to say that at first. I just don't want to rule out the angst teenanger is mad because she got rejected option either.

And no, I am not attacking the victim. All I want to know is there anything else besides his word vs. hers. For the record I have zero tolerance for this sort of behavior.

Eww, I see, he has already even gone to trial and convicted. Thanks for the clarification

edit 2:
I wonder what kind of time he will get?

Wow, I don't know what you've been watching on youtube, but I find that highly improbable as the game has a "C" (15+) rating. It would have to have "Z" (Adults only) to depict it and at least a "D" (17+) to allude to it.

I'm pretty sure she got felt up during the video...

But then... maybe I don't know the context... or maybe it's a different game, I don't know.

IdolM@ster was arcade and Xbox 360 game where you manage girls to become idols but it was rated Cero C...about same rating as PG-13

no molesting involved....

Ya, watching stuff you can't understand and then making possibly inaccurate judgments isn't really something you should do... I have seen many many ecchi anime allude to stuff like that (I'm not sure that's what it is doing). But saying that you molest little girls in the game based on that is pretty ignorant (I'm not really referring to you here DKL, just in general).

That's still pretty uninformed. You don't even know what the hell is going on (unless you understand Japanese).
