Better be next year instead of J.C. Staff doing QUALITY in their animation all over the place. And considering they are already have enough work on their plate (Combatants Will Be Dispatched, Realist Hero, The Story of the Girl Who Couldn't Become a Wizard, now announced The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest) - it certainly for the best.

Oh, so they're already busy? It's a shame we have to wait to next year, I'm excited to see the Bell vs. Juggernaut fight

More DanMachi is always great. I'm going to hazard a guess and say that it will go up to Bell and Ryuu escaping the 37th floor, maybe with one episode to wrap it up with one story from the following volume's short story collection (probably Hestia's descent to Orario and her meeting Bell) like in the second series.
The writing has just gotten better and better, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one goes. If you thought the third season was good, this one should be even better if adapted well.

Even though I dont care much for the anime, I am glad its getting another season so people can see the BEST arc. Though even more, I wish Sword Oratoria could get another anime. To me its the better series out of the two, and really they messed up with the first adaptation.

I wish I was excited about this fourth season, but I am no longer into Danmachi because it went from being a mischievous romantic comedy to now being a drama. There is nothing wrong with seasons 2 and 3, but I prefer the style and energy of the first season.

Yeah, I'm also expecting that it will adapt novels 12-14, as that's kinda-sorta one arc. (Or more accurately, novel 12's story directly feeds into the arc covering volumes 13-14.) Novel 13 is among the shortest in the franchise but novel 14 is among the longest, so the total page count is about the same as for the Xenos arc. Will be interested to see how anime-only viewers react to the 13-14 adaptation, given that arc's co-protagonist.

You'll partly get your wish then, because season 4 will return to a strong (almost exclusive, in fact) focus on the Dungeon-delving side of the setting, more in line with the more serious parts of season 1.
As for the OVA, well, it was too much to hope that it would be anything other than a fan service fest given the previous two OVA. At least it's not adapting the awful bath house story from Memoria Freese, which brought back Apollo. (Ugh!) Interesting that Dian Cecht is going to feature prominently; Amid popped up in Sword Oratoria, but I don't think her god has appeared previously in animation?

I don't recall seeing him before in the anime. He would've showed up in Volume 8, but everything that wasn't the end of that got the knife.

YES! First Goblin Slayer and now this. Even if they both air in 2022 this is a good start to 2021 for me.

Dian never showed in the anime. I was trying to forget that event! Last event of 2020 and it just HAD to heavily feature Apollo as well as his inner thoughts. At least this OVA doesnt sound as much of a literal fever dream than whatever the hell the 2nd OVA was.

More Ryu Lion is always a good thing and if that means I have to take another season of Dan Machi along with her, so be it.

Season 4 is 100% going to cover the expedition arc which is volume 12-14.
4 episodes per volume for sure.

Sex workers are still second class citizens in Japanese literature?
An evil industrial hot spring? Is there a shark in there?

Happy to see the return of Bell and his Familia for another season!
Looks like there will be plenty of fanservice and comedy in the new OVA, as well as a surprising amount of the Miach Familia.

I think they'll sneak in volume 15 as just one episode, just with the Aiz and Bell grave stuff and status updates. But it'd be fine to just go until 14, too - idk how well 15 could work as a first episode of a new season, but I guess it could be worse.
Just hoping we can get good and consistent fighting animation again. Season 3 had a highlight or two, I guess.
