This was one of those series that I felt ashamed for watching. It was like a dumb, guilty pleasure that brought joy into my life 23 minutes at a time. I ended up buying this, and I'll probably get the rest, especially if they all come with stickers. I live for stickers. And dvds....

Is that really the cover for the first volume? I'm sure ADV probably thought that the girls in swimsuits might sell more DVDs, I'm no ADV hater so I don't really mean that in a bad way, but I'm not even sure where they got that picture. There's no scene remotely like that in the entire series. I don't think misrepresenting what the series is about is a good way to start out, even if it is just the cover art.

This is one of my non-guilty pleasures. No, it definitely isn't the highest quality or most brilliant show ever made, but it leaves me happy and grinning like an idiot after every episode. Any show that can do that is totally worth the money in my book.

Really, it may be a bit stupid, but it's the type of stupid that borders on brilliance.

ADV has developed a reputation for occasionally getting gimmicky with its dubs, and the gimmick this time is that every single male role in the first volume (which, with one exception, are all bit parts) is voiced by John Swasey.

Now if I had known that, I might have won a copy in the Guessing Game contest Janice Williams ran over at Anime on DVD. Very Happy

Another point about the English dub: This series marks the debut of Christine Auten as an ADR director. Based on what I saw in the first episode on the Newtype USA sampler DVD, it's not a bad dub, but there's not enough material for me to run out and buy a copy right away. Most likely I'll rent it first.

Yes. It's also the centerfold on the Newtype USA January 2007 issue.

I watched episode 1 on the NewType sampler, and laughed very hard. The puppet steals the show, IMHO. I don't know if its worth a purchase yet, but I'm definitely renting it.

In regards to the cover, if the series truly is following every high school anime cliche, I'm sure we'll get a summer vacation swimsuit episode somewhere down the line ....

Oh, you do, but it's not exactly what you think...

Idk, between Strawberry Panic and PaniPoni Dash!, I'm pretty well-stocked on oodles-of-girls school anime for awhile. I was kind of surprised to hear ADV's announcement for this series, since it was pretty unknown even in the fansub world. I never saw the fansubs for this one, and based on the review, there's really not enough substance to justify going out and getting it right now. Maybe in the future, as it's certainly not the type of series I'm opposed to.

And "Welcome" to the forums, bci110 Wink I knew I'd seen that name in numerous posts over at AoD.

The cover sure does make it look like some sort of harem show...

But the review/synopsis says differently. I might just rent this one for curiosity's sake to see what it means by being completely drowned in cliches.

Very Happy Heh, thanks! As you can see, I used to be known as "biliano" here, but I had to establish a new account since my old one got corrupted beyond repair. I probably won't post here as often as I did in the past, but I won't be a total stranger, either. I"ll post a re-introduction later.

Just so everyone know if you wanna watch the first episode and you have Time Warner you can watch it on channel 1209. I have yet to watch it and I am gonna give it a shot. I do that for every first episode of an anime that comes on the Anime On Demand.(although it is not that anymore since TW decided to cram it together with a bunch of other stuff)

I absolutely adore this series which is actually based on a video game of the same name (Gokujou Seitokai) made by my favorite video game company, KONAMI.

Konami seem to be developing a reputation at the moment for turning a lot of their video game series into animes (eg: Gokujou Seitokai aka Best Student Council, Tokimeki Memorial etc)

I really do encourage people to stick with this series. I could guess what was going to happen in that each girl gets their own specific episode (apart from Seina sadly). Cindy's is absoultely hilarious but I don't want to spoil anything so I'll say no more and for those that do stick with it there is more to Pucchan than meets the eye. In fact thats why I love this series. There's more to most of the characters than their stereotypical cliches would present.

Overall I think this series from my point of view is highly recommended.
