Perhaps the description is lacking, but this cruise seems anime uninspired. If you are going to have a anime themed cruise it needs to be like a anime convention at sea to some degree. This sounds more like BYOA type event where the cruise attendees are bringing the fun, facilitated by cruise event managers.
I could be wrong, but they need to put more details out there. -Are they going to decorate the ship in anime posters? -Are they going to have anime themed cruise souvenirs and merchandise? -Any anime related guests? -Any anime companies or vendors? -Any anime screenings or 24/7 anime channels? -Is the cruise ship casino going to have anime slot machines like in Japan? (most likely not) -Will Shana of the Burning Eyes greet us on the gangway? |

One thing is for sure, this will be the stinkiest cruise until some invents a magic the gathering cruise.

Agreed. This seems a bit silly to me. I'm guessing they will stick up some posters, have the restaurants on the ship to serve vaguely Asian-inspired dishes, and probably put some anime-related (or maybe just "Japanese") music on the sound system, meanwhile the guests take care of the rest. I honestly don't see the appeal. |

That's my thoughts too. A group nobody has ever heard of, with an unknown (but likely zero) level of experience, is asking folks to pony up a pretty big chunk of change... basically on the premise of "because Anime!" Huge red flags as far as the eye can see... |

The website is so lacking in any information
You can't just say you're running an anime centered ship and then not list why it's any different than a normal cruise (beyond vaguely mentioning cosplay, which theoretically you could do on a normal cruise if you felt so inclined) |

Considering that the ocean liner cruise industry is already suffering due to health-related problems and inexperienced staff members in the past, I can't see this as anything more than a desperate gimmick designed to reel in customers. I would feel pretty bad for any anime fan that falls for this.
Hang on, I'll prepare the gallows. |

Setting aside the fact that cruise industry is pretty healthy... this isn't being run by the cruise line. |

Yeah, tell that to the CDC. Also, while not specifically run by the cruise line, Carnival's name is still attached to this whole affair.
So by supplying the ship, they're running it on a technical basis as any events that occur on their cruise lines will still be fronted by the company in the end. Last edited by KabaKabaFruit on Thu Nov 07, 2019 10:12 am; edited 2 times in total |
