I'm still holding out for that rumored Pro model, but at least the revised one coming next month might tempt me enough. And if they solve the Joy-con drift...

Dunno about you ANN but I think Sony shipping 100 million PlayStation 4's as of June 30th 2019 is also worth reporting about. That's quite a milestone.

Trashy incorrigible port machine of a product that takes advantage of every anti-consumer tactic available in the games industry. Nintendo should be ashamed of itself selling such a trashy cheap piece of plastic after the death of the good-hearted Iwata, who prioritized quality craftsmanship, original game production and treating the consumer with respect. I'm expecting better things from their next serious foray into the console market.

I like my Switch. Glad to see it is selling well. I skipped the Wii U because I had sort of stopped playing games but the Switch brought me back. I will also admit I've always been a Nintendo guy. Never owned a X Box or PlayStation. Nothing against them, just have stuck to what I know.

I love the Switch, its so nice to finally see Nintendo getting 3rd party games with the big boys again. Its pretty shocking that its already almost caught up with the Xbox One, in 4 less years.

If anything it's a tribute to Mr.Iwata. I say that as a PC gamer who bought a Switch and has double dipped on quite a few games so that I can play them on the go. And it's just not ports, Zelda BotW and Mario Odyssey might just be the peak of both series. While fancy graphics are nice they are not everything. That's one thing I learned from a few indie games and Mr. Iwata when he crammed the whole first Pokemon region in Gold/Silver. Gameplay such as being able to climb pretty much anywhere in BotW is all you need to appreciate a game and the system it's on.

I remember when people complained about the Wii U not having enough ports.

Have you ever actually used the console at least once for more than 5 minutes?

afaik DS never had any really issue during its time (dont think the hinge issue even appeared until near end of its lifespan)
whereas switch has had multiple issues (some soon after its launch like cracking of the system plastic.)
but yes. any Nintendo console is a great device (even the under promoted wii u)
