I'm looking forward to see how this one turns out since Zeonic Front and Federation vs Zeon were awesome while JtJ was average.

I've only watched the E3 2005 demonstration for this game, but it looks like crap like most other Gundam games. Side Story 0079 was the best yet.

What? Are you serious, honestly Fed VS Zeon was only game that I could even stand to play. My problem with the Gundam games is that Bandai puts out the same game every year. The gameplay is the same as the first 3D game for Dreamcast......with all the power of PS3 there better be some great graphics foremost, and more importantly better controls. And how about some epic battles instead of 2v2.... Till next time, Delta Kiral |

You apparently have not played the new PS2 Berserk or DBZ: Budokai 3. |

You could of learn the easy way and just any review on that game, you would of learned quite easily. Also I am hearing some good reviews about your "naruto" for gamecube.......so perhaps you might want to avoid hasty generalization.
Or the original Berserk on Dreamcast, hell even the Samurai Champloo was an interesting game. The graphics weren't there, but the game was creative and it felt like it fit into the Samurai Champloo universe. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

Of course, this game will be based on the One Year War, since Bandai Games has some kind of aversion to moving on to later conflicts, the combat will be subpar (either the "hit a Zaku 12 times until it explodes" crap from Journey to Jaburo or the lame arcade-style combat from Federation vs. Zeon, although that WAS an arcade game in Japan) and the graphics will be like we've already seen on the PS2. With Gundam's non-existant popularity in the US, and seeing as how out of all the Gundam games released, only an old Dreamcast game (Side Story 0079) and a single PS2 game (Zeonic Front) were actually worth playing, I doubt this game will even sell.

Bandai does try to move onto other series (such as Seed had three different games) but generally there so bad that there never brought across the Pacific. Not only that there was a new rpg game that at least try to branch out using the gundam themes.
They must be selling in Japan (It's the Dynasty Warrior theory) or somewhere otherwise there wouldn't be an another gundam game every year. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

I'm looking forward to this game, hoping they have upgraded gameplay, or completely redone it. I stopped buying Gundam games after Encounters in Space, because the whole space battle thing got annoying quickly, the controls kinda sucked, too. Federation vs Zeon, on the other hand, was a very good game. I enjoyed playing, and wish I still had my copy.
I own the Dreamcast Berserk game (Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage), and it is honestly a good game. The camera is not active though, however it was the first game I ever played that had dynamic cut scenes (later popularized by Resident Evil 4, in which during a cut scene, a button sequence had to be pressed to do a specific action). The Dreamcast game is quite rare, though, even when Dreamcast games were out there, today its hard to find. |

I'm not talking about Japan. I'm talking about the US. Nobody cares about Gundam here. |

You know, I always wanted to see another Gundam game that's as realistic as A Side Story and Front Mission 5. Check out the screenshots on IGN.

Since screenshots tell nothing about a game, I just watched the videos of this game on IGN. I had already seen the three from last year, and I just watched the three from this year, and the game looks like it really sucks. Very unresponsive gameplay (very slow), terrible physics, the hardware running the game has framerate slowdowns, and while the Gundam model graphics are not so bad, the special effects like explosions and bullets are horrible: Basically, I wouldn't be surprised to see this game get review scores around 3.5 out of 10.
The Xbox 360 Gundam game coming out looks to be much better, but that is only a relative term, since the game still doesn't look too good, at least from the little I've seen. Now, about Gundam's popularity over here, God Gundam is right in saying nobody cares about Gundam here, although that is a relative term. While still necessitating acknowledgment in North America, the series over here is nothing compared to the same series over in Japan, making the Japanese buy every Gundam game no matter what it's like. |
