That's why I like Long Beach. I don't have to walk an additional mile to get to the con, because the closest hotels have sold out. I'm still waiting for GOHs I'd like to see before signing up, too. It's annoying when the con takes so long to announce their line-up only two months in advance. I mean A-Kon and Otakon let you know as soon as they're booked.

Funny, I remember walking more at long beach than I ever have at Anaheim. More hotels close by, it seems.
The problem that's going to exist is finding a hotel room that weekend for a good price. What with all the families still going to Disneyland because of the stupid as hell 50th *disneyland cast member ranting, go!*
But oh noes! Walking! Heaven forbid we get exercise! And what the hell do you do in the exhibition room? Float on a happy cloud of air?

Yup.
The shriners booked Anaheim for 2007 a long itme in advance. But AX will be returning to Anaheim in 2008.
I like Long Beach because it's less of a Tourist Trap, but to be honest, Anaheim is a better convention area...
I'm really concerned about over-crowding at Long Beach, it was, IMHO, over crowded years ago when AX was less than 15k people. True they shared the event space, but even with the entire space I'm skeptical about whether it can accomodate the 40+ thousand people who will attend in 2007.
Oh well, hope for the best.

I personally believe that there isn't enough hotels to house most of the attendees. =\

AX has certainly grown. Sometime in the future I think that they might eventually (I'm not saying this year, but maybe some years later) have to cut off attendees.
One thing that frustrates me is the fact that the AX staff hasn't updated their website. I know they're busy and all, but it's pretty misleading. I didn't even know Hilton was booked until a few weeks ago when my group tried to get a hotel. We had to call to get one. *Sigh* No discount...

I agree. Will it really be able to hold all those attendees?

Sold out already, huh? I'm returning to AX this year after two years off (I went to the first 12). It had always been my habit to start making plans two months in advance. It looks like I got in just under the wire.
So, Long Beach next year, huh? I think I may just skip that year. I find it hard to believe the 2002 site can handle 5 years worth of growth. The biggest question in my mind is always the same: how much space is there for the exhibit hall. They have that cavernous show floor in Anaheim. Will they have as much space in Long Beach?

AX may likely use the Long Beach Ice Dogs' arena for the exhibit hall. I've seen it used in its entirety in that matter and it can fit far more vendors than what AX currently uses at Anaheim, I believe.

Woohoo for living 20 minutes away from anahiem. Though that does suck for the people that need to book a room still. O.o;
I just hope all the parking isn't taken up. Last year it was kinda hard to find a place to park. Err.
