Yeah... let's see if it does as well as "Mew Mew Power". Rolling Eyes

4Kids.tv apparently attracts more female viewers than males. This is actually a pretty smart move; looks like 4Kids failed to secure the second season of Tokyo Mew Mew, though.

ARRRG!

I wanted to see this show. I guess I'll stick to fansubs.

Al Kahn, CEO of 4Kids Entertainment, announced at the ICv2 Anime & Manga panel New York Comic Convention that 4Kids has licensed Pretty Cure, Bandai's long-running magical girl series. The show will apparently run this fall on TV; no further details are available at this time.

"Another one bites the dust..." ~~ Queen

Judging from 4kids' past work, this dub will suck.

[Comment removed due to misinformation.]

On the bright side, Magical Girl shows are making a comeback. Very Happy

Not too surprised, I thought they'd get it sooner or later. Either them or Funi.

I'm going to remain neutral, but I thought a Bandai series would be licensed by, well, Bandai. Perhaps they'll get a piece of the DVD market.

That was actually a mistake on my part, the show's made by Toei, Bandai just makes the toys. It's been corrected.

Compared to One Piece, the dubs for the magical girl shows from 4Kids are not THAT bad acting-wise (considering Tom Wayland did the voice directing, and his past work are actually very good). The scripts, the BGM changes, and needless cuts are another story. Anime dazed

I'm watching Splash Star, so I know a wee little bit about the point of Pretty Cure, even though Splash Star is a spin-off. =\

I'm also going to stay neutral on this. I'm still assuming that 4Kids will Westernize everything ATM, but come on, how can you screw up a Magical Girl show?

*Remembers about Tokyo Mew Mew*

Confused

We'll see, We'll see.

Just to make sure though....

*leaves to get all the Pretty Cure batch torrents*

O.O Someone please tell me that is a bad April's fools joke that got out of the bag a little too early or a terrible nightmare. I like Pretty Cure and I don't want to see it horribly mutilated. I saw what they did with Tokyo Mew Mew, it was horrible. I turned it off after a few minutes in disgust. I don’t want to see something like that happen to Pretty Cure.

Hmm, I was thinking about seeing this series. I was hoping someone other then 4kids would license it so I could buy it on DVD. Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with the fansubs now...

Hm, bummer. It was a pretty cute little show, if not somewhat mindless. Oh well, maybe they'll actually give it more of a chance to succeed than they did Mew Mew.

I'm relieved, though, that they're sticking to children's shows. What would really be awful is if they started licensing shows aimed at older audiences and hacked them up in an attempt to create teen-friendly programming.

I know there are fans out there for shows like Pretty Cure but at least they're sticking to shows aimed at small children.

Well let's hop that 4Kids can actually think more logically this time around, with at least some sort of merchendise tie-in.

They already do that with One Piece.
