But isn't the food at Russia Sushi supposed to be notoriously bad? I would never go to that restaurant; I could be food poisoned or shot with a gun.
I was going to vote for Hyouka, but isn't that just a regular novel? |

Dirty Pair was based ( very loosely ) on some light novels, so I added it.

This doesn't include series like Gate where Japanese cooking plays a big roll but doesn't have a specific restaurant. But my favorite restaurant will always be the Quiet Country Cafe in Yokohama Shopping Log (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou).

Goddamn this vote was hard.
I had to go with the ones I thought made for great adaptations in and off themselves by being unique anime. Baccano with its structure, Monogatari and Hyouka for its visuals. Still, I wanted to vote for like 10 things. |

No kidding. I would've voted for like half of the stuff on that list if I was able to. |

Correction: There's actually only one fantasy world. The door just appears in several different locations spread out across it. All of Nekoya's customers, as varied as they are, all live in the same realm and sometimes interact with each other outside of the restaurant. |

I think the original list was more enticing, with the likes of Antique Bakery and Polar Bear Cafe to choose from.
The poll makes it clear that good things can come from light novels, for all the heat the format takes for being crap. Three choices was not enough. |

I was gonna try and suggest adding Pantasia from Yakitate!! Japan to the list, but then I remembered that's a bakery, not a restaurant.
