Aww, that's Awsome! I'm so going to get that! I had the series once, and due to an uncanny amount of coinsiding coincidences, I no longer have it. I've been wanting to pic it up for some time now, but not really wanting to pay for each over priced disk again. THIS IS GREAT!

So...is there any difference between this and the previously released Perfect Collection brick I bought a while back? Or is it just the lower price point?

Now, no one will have an excuse not to have their own copy of this series. It certainly ranks as one of my favorites.

Lol, what is this, the 4th time Escaflowne has been released?
1. Single Discs
2. Teh ultra-rare 1337 boxed set
3. The Perfect Collection that Shwiggie bought
4. The new Complete Collection

It seems like the new collection doesn't have the movie, since the runtime is only 625 min (though it should be 650 for 26 episodes). I bought the "Perfect Collection" that includes the movie, and I like the packaging/presentation on it--a nice space-saving folding case reminiscient of the ROD TV box. It's not that much more expensive, on average, than the new collection.

All I know is that this WILL be mine.

I had a couple of the singles a couple years ago, but sadly had to sell them off. And being able not to find the other singles and box sets at my local stores was a problem too.

So, thanks, Bandai! Remember that reduced price collections will bring in the big bucks for an older series... and the cheap bastard in me thanks you.

*ding!*

I miss that show so much, and Tekkoshocon's fanparody hour last year make it oh so obvious.

The Bandai rep over at AnimeOnDVD said this won't contain the movie.

Remember they already released an "Anime Legends" version of the movie with bonus disc and cd. I believe it's only 20 bucks so if you buy both they'll still cost less than the "Perfect Collection."

And what really sucks is that it's based on the Edited TV Version, NOT the Uncut Region 2 Japanese DVD Version, which I own, and a lot has been cut back in ALL of the R1 Versions.

Which version do you claim is based on the edited TV version? I doubt that is true, considering this story. I have the Escaflowne Perfect Collection that was released in Oct 2004.

Um... just what are you talking about? I originally saw the edited episodes, and own the first set of DVDs to be released, but it's sure not the edited version at all. They actually have the first episode, for one thing, not to mention all the various blood and stuff that'd normally get removed if it were the edited version. Ah, and the Japanese voices. It'd be pretty hard to chop something up and yet keep all the original voicing and have it actually work together.

I have no idea what your smoking there.... The regular DVD release from Bandai USA is unedited. Your region 2 is no different.

However a VHS edited version of the series was released very briefly back when it was airing on FOX. There is a blue border on the cover and it clearly says FOX KIDS on cover.

I vaguely remember that crappy version on Fox...though seeing as I even thought that looked pretty cool, I might just pick this up.

and on the airing of one episode, they did this really BIZARRE internet chatroom feed scroll cutaway during the episode. All filled with comments from online people saying things like "anime is cool," and "escaflowne rocks!"
