Still not enough information. Is the film sequel gonna be original or will it be adapting the next book(s).

So it is a sequel of sorts after all.

I really don't mind either way, be it a movie or season 2, it is always nice to have more.

Nice to see that fan support had a role in it's development, that is always nice to hear.

How about you give more of a source like the actual scanned pages of the magazine.

Glad it's not a compilation film, but still would have preferred a second season. Still, I ain't gonna turn my nose up at more Tanya.

Better than a compilation/summary/retelling film. Hopefully, it does well enough to demand another full season.

Well, let’s hope that the film can get released overseas in a more timely manner than some previous anime films in the past. Glad that it’s not a recap and it will be interesting to see how exactly the director will use his influence for the film’s execution. Hopefully, the fans can continue to support this franchise enough to get another season out of it.

Awesome, I'm glad it's not a recap movie.

Well that's a major bummer.

I hope they do a S2 properly later, instead of trying to cram 3 volumes into 2.5 hours. That could be truly awful.

I'm far less enthused by a second film (although glad to hear it is a continuation rather than a recap), as we rarely get films for streaming, and even when they are available on physical media, it is usually long after they originally were available on home media in Japan.

The "Uemura also noted that there were originally no plans to make a film after the series finished,..." also indicates that there was also no consideration of a second series, so I don't have much hope for a second series subsequent to the film. (Even if it was quite successful, they would probably just make another film).

tl:dr: Better than nothing at all, better than a recap film, but not the optimum result (which would have been a second TV series).

Based on season 1, I don't think anyone involved is that incompetent.

Please explain the logic of this. That if a one cour show doesn't plan to make a movie after season 1, then they aren't making a season 2.

They weren't planning on making a sequel at all. If the movie is successful, from a financial standpoint it would be a less risky proposition to make another movie.

There is also a potential problem with source material. Apparently by the end of the first series, they were well into volume 3 of the 8 light novel volumes that currently exist. If they went directly to another series, they would be fine. Depending on how long the movie is, however, they could burn through enough material that a second series would have to wait or be stretched out by slower pacing or filler. In comparison, there would still be sufficient material for a second movie.

Finally, consider the statistical precedence of the number of late night anime that have returned to have another TV series after a non-recap movie vs. those that did not.
