I've got the DVDs and I'll still be watching it. Eva needs all the support it can get. Then, maybe then, it might stand a better chance of being made into a movie.

All scheduling I see, On Adult Swim's homepage and my DirecTv guide say 12:30, not 11:30.

According to the e-mail that ADV sent out, it airs at 11:30 central time. That would be 12:30 AM Eastern. Here's the link to the ad:

I just got this spam in my inbox too. I have the original set of DVD's but I haven't watched it yet.

Is it worth watching on TV with commercials and 1-week in between? Will it be the platinum version w/ more footage?

edit: Doesn't ADV have their own network for things like this?... Rolling Eyes

Ah the news article was based on central time. That explains it. Silly people writing articles in central time instead of EST. Laughing

....What do you mean? It already IS a movie: anime#418 and anime#419

They need money because ADV isn't doing so hot. Don't believe me:
1) A few years ago ADV almost NEVER had any of thier shows on any other network except their own and all of the sudden they are after all of these years? They're having their shows not JUST on AS but also on G4, and Showtime. They are taking almost every avaliable media that airs anime to air their products.

2) They are releasing boxsets like CRAZY. Ex: The last vol of Chrono Crusade came out in august, and now complete collection will be coming out in november. It usually takes YEARS for a series to be released in complete collection form.

3) I remember reading something about their own anime channel not doing well either...

Well, they're at least getting a little closer to living up to the [Adult Swim] name. Too bad they had to bring another psychological series to the network. The aftermath of Paranoia Agent is still leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Sorry, but NGE just wasn't that good to me.

I still find it strange that AS is going to run a series that so many anime fans have already seen (several times, probably) and that has already been played on ADV's Anime Network, to boot. But hey, anything that gets the almighty penguin Pen Pen more exposure.

CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ON ANIME SERIES EXPRESSED ON MESSAGE BOARD

Yeah, I have to admit, EVA seems a wee bit played out these days, but there are more people out there that haven't seen it than those who have, so hey, more power to 'em. It's nice to see an ADV show get that kind of exposure; it's a little more marketable than Milk-chan, anyway.

I think it will be good for people who haven't seen Evangelion already. I may watch it today just to see.

I was referring to the live-action Eva film that is currently on hold, Aura.

Crap. That's even worse news to me. I assumed that it meant 11:30 Eastern, but, as I've only been in Boston for a couple months, I'm too used to automatically seeing Eastern and converting to Central. I wonder if it will be worth it to stay up and watch.
