Looks like a good cast. I've not heard a lot from Blake before, but out of curiosity, I wanted to see if he's covered any other Yoshitsugu Matsouka roles before, and using ANN's Compare Credits feature, it looks like he has!
Campione! - Godō Kusanagi
Chivalry of a Failed Knight - Shizuya Kirihara
Heaven's Memo Pad - Narumi Fujishima
Has anyone else watched these dubs, and does he sound like a good voice-match for Matsuoka, or at least fill the roles in a way that is appropriate? Matsuoka is such a huge voice actor in terms of his popularity and talent, and filling in for him on any of his protagonist roles seems like big shoes to fill, but I'm hopeful that this will be turn out to be a great dub!
Also, I'm super excited to see Jad Saxton as Megumi, one of my favorite characters in the whole show!
-Marc.

Blake-kun eh? As long as it's not Papenbrook, I'm down with it.

^ It could never have been Papenbrook anyway; He's never worked with Sentai.

As long as I can understand the language, I don't care who's talking for who.

He's voicing Isami, not Takumi, going by the list.

Sentai isn't Funimation, they can't get LA voice actors to come down there and do voice work for them

They probably can if they pay 'em. But I don't think they want to.

Scheduling also comes into play as well. Most 13 episode series are dubbed in about two weeks. It's more difficult to schedule an out of town actor with shorter turn around. ADV did it more frequently, even bringing in actors from LA and New York from time to time, but they had much more time to record. It was a lot easier working around schedules then.

I watched the Food Wars! anime back in April subtitled, and it was a LOT of fun. Not familiar with most of the cast, but I am looking forward to rewatching it dubbed when it comes out.
Hope we can get some dub clips soon!

I hate to point out the obvious but we are online right now and technology has kind of changed... why would they have to go to Houston or anywhere for that matter? They keep hiring Vic Mignogna and I doubt he's flying there to do bit work for them like he did in Himouto.
Of course, he does have his own private studio... in California.. so that helps.

I personally think it would've been fun if Sentai had held off on the announcement and had a roomful of weebs play "Guess That VA" at the Anime Expo premiere for prizes.

Because not having a director there is a pretty big factor. Yeah,
they have Skype and phones, but those will never be as good as working with someone in person. The point is, it can be done, but the result will never be as good as having the Actor and Director in the same room. Do you want 'so-so' direction over the internet? I'd much rather the Actor and Director be in the same room.
