These would make great background art for an anime.

I loved the part where it made dark mounds on the ground then dusted them with snow.

I wish I could have seen the work displayed in two orientations, either inverting the one in the video, or turning it on its side. I wanted to see how they reset the sand before the next display.

For sand art on a more epic scale, take a look at this New York Times article on the Sand Museum at Totori. American historical events constitute this year's theme like this remarkable rendition of the Constitutional Convention: https://static01.nyt.com/images/2017/04/08/world/11tottori-3/11tottori-3-superJumbo.jpg

Mr. Matsumoto-san's sand art illustration of the galaxy's horizon is utterly magnificent! Smile

I'm not sure what you mean. If you pause it at the beginning, it's a very different looking work from the end of the video, i.e., the did invert it, and after 6 min. it turned into the hills with the planetoid in the sky.

If I had a lot more money in the bank (at least $25,000), I wouldn't mind buying one of them. How you get such beautiful sand to change upon each touch is astounding.
