I need to make a correction. Jay Chou is Taiwanese not Chinese.

The movie features Chinese superstar Jay Chou

On a side note, he's classified as a "pop"-super star and this is his debut movies just in case people. Not a regular movie super star like Stephen Chow.

Ohm... Jay Chou is a Chinese actor, I mean star. There is no contradiction.

So something beat out 'Star wars'. Well, in another country. Now I wonder if they plan on bringing it over.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the series but I'm curious to see how they did the movie.

Ahem. That really depends on whom you are asking.

Don't get me started over this. I warn you, and I mean it, for it's way more complicated and sophisticated than Sino-Japanese War / WWII apology issue.

agreed.

I missed seeing it when I was in Hsinchu. I'm sure it would be cool at Windance (local theater)

They're probably bootleg copies. I was on amazon-China and I somehow found myself looking at copy of the DVD. It could have been a preorder, but bootleggers these days are getting more skilled. I personally haven't shown much interest in the series myself and I wasn't even aware of its popularity. Star Wars was immensely popular over there (At least a few months ago it was), so this is saying a lot.
