Doubtful. Animerica is more widely distrobuted, and isnt the anime equivolent of a Teen People magazine. Anyway, I paid for a one year subscription, I hope I start getting it monthly as well. |

*blink* What planet are you living on? AI's circulation is at least triple Animerica's. |

Animerica I can find at my local grocery stores. I gotta travel a good 40 minutes to get an AI. I guess it's just in my area, then. |

I saw this coming. I'm so glad I renewed my subscription.
I wonder if I should renew my subscription to Animerica... |

It's good to see Animerica get monthly competition. I bought a couple of issues of it back when it was pretty much the only anime magazine available, and even then it wasn't really good enough for me to buy it regularly. Neither magazine is really informative, as I've already read pretty mcuh all the new info they have on the internet by the time they come out, but at least Anime Insider is interesting. It's a Wizard magazine, so there's plenty of jokes that make it worth reading.

Why is everyone talking about Animerica as though it isn't getting its regular run cancelled in June to become a convention-exclusive freebie publication?
Did I miss a subsequent headline? |

How often does AI come out now? I could have sworn it was the same as Wizard (monthly) before.

Hadn't heard about that. Good. I don't really check the news on a regular basis. |

I was wondering that as well. The timing seams more that Wizard Press sees the void Animerica is leaving behind and is trying to fill it. I agree the "news" is usually dated but The humor is fun and you get something of a counter-point to NTUSA |

Wait, how does this affect those of us who already have a subscription? The yearly subscription price doesn't change, does it? Nothing changes except I get a magazine in the mail every month now, right?
Anime Insider is really funny. And I love seeing a good number of names from ANN's staff in its pages as well. |

Good questions, Cloe. I'm wondering myself, since I just recently renewed.
I completely agree. I read AI since the first issue and not only is it very funny, but very informative. I used it a few times doing research on certain anime topics in this forum, and I will continue to do so. Bamboo and Rebecca contribute to AI on a regular basis, and former ANN editor Zac Bertschy is now handling Animail (one of my favorite sections of the magazine), replacing Tom Root, who is now producing Robot Chicken. The Last Man Standing section is also very good, just as long as they stay away from any more Tetsuo vs. Hamtaro matches.
When it first started, quarterly. |
