I've noticed something about Geneon's previews.

Is it just me, or are they actually CREATING their own trailers for most of their newer releases? I've check out the trailers for Tsukihime, Stellvia, and Gad Guard in their website, and they're pretty good (though I rank Bandai for having the best anime trailers). Cool

To me, it seems Geneon makes their trailers out to be kind of like music videos to a song or peice of music from that show. I like them a lot and also appreciate how they put a lot of trailers in general on some of their DVDs.

Bandai is probably my least favorite when it comes to trailers. They put maybe 3 or 4 trailers on the DVD that somtimes have English voiceovers, which is kind of distratcing. But those were the older ones, and I haven't seen many of the newer ones yet, so I'm not sure if they're any better. Razz

I am one of the strange ones that sneaks off to weird things like film festivals, and I avidly LOVE trailers! Geneon does many of their own trailers, and have for many years.

Geneon is my absolute favourite for anime trailers, runs cirlces around the rest of them. Hellsing, Mahoromatic, Patlabor WXIII, Armitage Dual Matrix are some classic favourites.

Heh, same here. I LOVE trailers! When ever I pop in a new DVD I go straight to the trailers! All of the ones that you mentioned where nice, but I really am not fond of the Armitage Trailer.

You'd be interested to know that many anime companies have actually hired AMV creators to edit some of their trailers for them ^^;;. There's even a Noir disc that actually has three (or four?) hidden AMVs by rather prominent editors.

By any chance, wasn't the Noir AMVs created by Nightowl, Kusoyaro, AD, and Dokidoki? Rolling Eyes

While I really do like the majority of Geneon's trailers, it seems that they've started to put less of them on their discs. Before, it used to be one long strand of trailers (from around 5-9 trailers). Recently, I've noticed they've reduced the number to around 3 trailers, with a special trailer menu, and the ability to choose indivisual trailers. I kinda liked it how they did it before, but I guess there's probably reasons for shifting the format.

I guess some of them are of pretty good quaility nowadays. =P

I don't know; do the Geneon make new previews to replace the Pionner ones? I only have the Pionner DVDs thus far and some of them have up to like 12 previews(X Vol. 8 comes to mind).

This may or may not be a Ganeon preview, but the Fighting Spirit! preview on The Last Exile DVD's is great, especially the song
