It doesn't have every song, but most of them. It is worth the buy even though you could just.....never mind.

Actually, it doesn't have most of the songs available on the other eight soundtracks. What it does have is unreleased tracks and alternate mixes of the tunes from the other OSTs. Interspliced between the tunes are voiceovers from the show....
It also comes with an omake single with tunes only available with the box set... I don't think that single was released otherwise, but I may be wrong.
Anyway, it's a great box, but I'd only really recommend it to the completist....
If you do get it, though, make sure you get the legit Victor Entertainment release and not a pirate....

I don't think that there is a legit copy out there anymore. Hopefully a company will make a domestic release of the box set and the other cds, it happened for Wolf's Rain.

Wow... that thing is selling on Amazon.jp for from 19900 yen to 46000, both used! Damn glad I bought that when it first came out....
In this situation I might make some allowances....

I think if you plan on buying them, buy them official singles rather then the official boxset.
It's cheaper, you get less rehashed songs and more variety, and the only real song I can say you regretfully miss out on is Goodnight Julia.
But it's your money and it's your's to spend. Just a suggestion.
