Does anyone out there know of any anime focusing on on music bands.
I know of Gravitation but I do't like yaoi anime. THANKS |

Definetely go for Legend of Black Heaven. I think Macross 7 has a band too.

A new anime thats still in Japan is Beck (it has nothing to do with the singer but it still involves music).
Legend of Black Heaven is probobly the best you will find stateside. I haven't seen it (yet) but Interstella 555 is about a band. Avoid Macross 7. Look on the recent Macross 7 topic if you need anymore proof on its crapyness |

Not a band, but I highly recommend Full Moon wo Sagashite. Girl singer...great stuff.

The best band anime in my opinion is To-y. The music in the OAV is a collection of various J-Pop bands including Psys and Barbee Boys! Nya is voiced by singer Nokko IRC. The OAV is based of a great manga (Shonen Sunday recompiled them into 5 large volumes which I've read many times) about To-y who must decide to stay in his garage band, or sell out to the big music scene.
