Anyone here have any soundtracks in particular that really tend to move you?

It could be a soundtrack you love or one that you hate! just as long as it really gets you into the music.

I personally enjoyed Rurouni Kenshin: Seisouhen's Soundtrack despite the OVA or it being a pretty big downer Sad

I totally agree with you here. I had a dream about a girl I used to have a crush on, and one of the songs from this soundtrack was playing when I saw her.

I think the music for this OST, in particular, had sort of a depressing, yet very peaceful atmosphere about it, which perfectly described how I felt in the dream. Sad

In any case, another OST that really seems to get me in a certain mood is the Furi Kuri/Fooly Cooly/FLCL soundtrack. It's just SO upbeat, I can't help but feel good. Cool

The Cowboy Bebop OSTs. Vols 1 and 3 in particular.

Also my Animage Best Collection. It's got a bunch of the vocals from various Miyazaki films....

And a few others that slip my mind right now...

Despite the seemingly futile effort, I will once again reccommend:

Kokoro Library OST [VICL-60619]

No one knows the true power of this soundtrack. It's sad, really...

It's about a library in the middle of Nowhere, Japan. The librarians wear maid outfits, and it's all very quiet...

While I liked the concept, the fact that NOTHING EVER HAPPENS, EVER really dampens the enjoyment one can get out of the series itself.

The music wasn't memoriable, for the first episode anyway. Maybe it gets better later. :p

It actually doesn't take place in Japan, but the countryside where the nearest city is reminiscent of the town in Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar. Despite the fact that "NOTHING EVER HAPPENS", I enjoy the slow pace of the show, and the relaxing music. Taken as a whole, I find the series quite rewarding; however, that isn't the issue here. I thought the music was great, simply from the first episode, and I liked it enough to purchase the CD via CD Japan, despite the high cost of OSTs. While it may not be as grand as Escaflowne, the melodies are solid and just as moving. This music is good enough on its own, but also serves its purpose as a compliment to the series.

Agreed. =P

Uhmmm. Lemme see.

Mahoromatic and Azumanga Daioh soundtracks move me in a light hearted, but humorous way. They're nice and perky.

FLCL, well, it moves me when I feel a little more energetic. But it suits very well.

Naruto OST is very moving in many aspects. It has humorous times, dramatics, and sadness. It's a very multi-purpose listen.

By far, I think the one that move me the most is the OST to Someday's Dreamers. The tone is just so light and peaceful. More so than any other. Takefumi Haketa deserves alot of credit for this. I can't really explain it. but it just moves... so well.

And the ending theme Under the blue sky by The Indigo... Oh so good. I think it shall remain the nostalgia of this year. =P

Yuki Kajiura...she's great. I believe she does most of the songs for the .hack series and some for noir out of 10 for movement she makes me move at 7. Great voice she has.
