I was flicking through this topic:

I get thingy at spending any more than $70-80 of Manga at a time and I only usually buy them once every few months or so. So how much money do you guys usually spend at a time or a month on manga? |

The past half year? Probably €100-150 a month. Before that a lot less, because my income was much smaller.
I don't think I spend to much on my hobbies, because: 1. I save 1/3 of my monthly income goes into a savings account 2. I always pay the important things (insurances, living expenses etc) right on time 3. I don't have any debts 4. I live with my parents, so my expenses are low, but it will not always be like that. I want to enjoy it while I can. |

I tend to only buy one or two per time, since I do a lot of my manga purchasing at Borders and the like. We don't have bookstores in my actual town, so I only get to go when I have something to do out of town, which is surprisingly frequent. Not sure about a monthly total right now. Too lazy to look it up. We also try to keep our credit card clear, hence why I don't abuse TRSI.

I probably spend about $40-$80/month, though that's on books general (though mostly I buy manga). I almost always buy my manga from Chapters online, and so I get orders of $40+ because then I get free shipping.

Like, $10 every other month, if that much given how many discounts I squeak out...
Boring? I spend about $50-60 a month on anime, though.

Here in kuwait we have 2 manga shops-_-
and the price of one manga is 18 doller because the shipping cost's and the other silly things><" in one month i spend 60$ or 75$ thats because im just 15 -_- i dont have much to spend... i buy 5 manga books each monthe my mom help me in this hobby^^ |

This month I've already spent about €200-300 on manga. That is what I generally spend on manga/anime a month, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Last few months it's been an average of €50~€60 a month, but I have to cut on expenses, so it'll propably be less from September on.

I average about $50 an month. Even at that low rate you're talking 5 manga a month (I normally buy retail) or 60 a year. In a couple of years one would be struggling for space.

I'm really choosy about what I read, and I usually tend to read the titles that never update/are never stocked, so I spend maybe $40 a year? And I never buy manga without a coupon, although that goes for any book, really.

You're welcome.  And so do I, I really don't think I'm some kind of hardcore manga fan. I have other hobbies and I know there are people who spend a lot more on manga.

hi im new on here and in collecting manga but I all ready have about 30, I usually by 15 in a month it all depends on which manga I find interesting. If I find the manga I read interesting then I have to go out and buy the whole series. And I would go to any lengths to find it almost. I also buy the dvds so your talking 30 or 40 manga comics and movies combined. But seriously I haven't exactly counted how many manga I have. My book shelf is all ready full of other books so I keep my manga in a stack by my bed, they're usually on the floor.

It can be pretty sporadic, it depends on what Im collecting. I’ve been collecting since around January and have 172 manga. I like to check out new manga in bunches, like 3 or 4 series at a time and I’ll buy the first couple volumes of each. And sometimes I buy in bulk when I really like something and want to complete the series or catch up to the currently available volume. If I had to give an amount I’d say I probably spend $150 to $250 a month.
I also buy American comics but thankfully I’ve completed most of the series I’ve been collecting so the strain on my wallet isn’t as bad as it used to be. |
