I've bought the first four Evangelion mangas Viz makes from borders and I think their great but how many are there? I want to know If I need to start saving for like fifty of them or something. I already have the entire dvd set and the two movies, so I won't be surprised if there’s the same amount of mangas.
P.S. I can't wait for the Remastered Eva!

There are currently eight manga volumes, if memory serves. It's also still ongoing.

I don't think the remastered edition is coming to R1 DVD. Though ADV is releasing the director's cut version of episodes 21-26, they aren't remastered.

The Director's Cuts are only episodes 21-24, but ADV will have the TV versions of episodes 24-26 on the 2nd DC DVD also.

The manga is still ongoing in Japan. The eighth volume will be released here in America next month. Sadamoto is extremely slow in releasing these so it will still be a while before the series is finished here.

I'm waiting for the reprints to come out in April, since they're probably going to be at a lower price.

Yep, and $9.99 is much more affordable for my wallet.

The pages will be smaller. And I'm assuming the resized editions, and possibly all future editions, will follow the right-to-left format with original sound effects of the special editions. At least, they better.

I remember reading Newtype USA and there was an article about the Remastered Eva, it looks like they are doing the whole series (they even showed a few Screen Caps From Ep. 1 ) and It said something like the colors will be clearer, the sound will be sharper and some of the episodes will be a little different including the episode where they bring in asuka.

All Renewal is, I believe, is they went back and digitally restored and re-edit all the episodes and the movies to brighten the colors and remove the "EVA bounce" that was the result of mechanical problems when the series was originally made. I think they also either remixed or rerecorded the soundtrack with 5.1 audio.

Yes. I am also very excited about the remakes of the Eva anime. Hmm...I should have waited for the reprinted manga to come out. I've bought Vol. 1-7 already.

Hey sorry, but could someone explain the director's cut? I mean, is it a good thing? And is it that the last 6 episodes are replaced, or simply edited (remastered)? I mean, are there any extra scenes/animation added in or anything? So is the original, or this one better?
Also, what's the prediction for the number of NGE volumes?

That's the anime, not the manga. The anime is set at eight volumes, while the manga is ongoing.
Since I don't want to derail this thread, if you'll make a thread about the Eva Director's Cut discs in the anime forum, I'd be glad to answer your questions there.

Sorry, I saw someone else before me say something about the anime, and i didn't really want to inconvenience anyone by starting a new thread, as there's a high chance of some arrogant anime fan going on a flamefest if I asked a question which might have been asked before. But, thanks for the offer.
