"Canada's SPACE channel is airing all 85 episodes, as well as the Shadow Chronicles film."

Well, yes, the regular episodes are still being burned off through weekend marathons, but Shadow Chronicles aired in primetime once, which was months ago now, and there's no sign of it airing again.

What they really should do to tie in with the live-action movie is create a new TV series. This franchise needs first-run content to move it along, rather than constantly milking the nostalgia factor.

Expanding the planned Shadow Chronicles DVD sequel into a TV series might be "the new direction" mentioned in the article...

Robotech was my intro into animation and will always hold a place in my heart, but the direction the Shadow Chronicles went is wrong. It totally throws out all the comics and books and makes up something totally different, which wouldn't be bad if the animation and voice acting didn't look/sound like stick figures with no emotion.

I'm going to watch the new Robotech when/if it comes out, but I am not holding my breath for it.

And I wish that Harmony Gold would loosen up and give me my Macross in the USA!!!! There behind by 3 series, I really want a good copy of Macross Zero and Frontier when it comes out, and I actually want *gasp* buy the DVD!!!!! But I can't because they will never come out in the US. Oh well.

You can get the DVD's of those titles. You just will have to buy the imports from various places like cdjapan, yesasia etc etc.
I know they are trying to work WB for the live action movie but it wouldn't hurt if they also worked on the next title. The fans have supported the title for a long time shouldn't have a long time for something new.

Sure, you can buy DVDs. But the legit ones won't have English dubs or subs because of this mess. And they won't be priced for the U.S.

True they do not have subs or dubs. But the price for the us market is relatively term.
Yesasia prices for the blue ray version of macross f is 54 us dollars.US prices for a typical blue ray is 30(i am going to compare it to a movie release price).I can not get the set price for zero from yesasia at this time because the site is acting up.
Playasia prices is just under 48 us dollars for the same title.Playasia has zero blue ray box set for 200 dollars.
CDjapan has macross f for 4800 yes(about 48 dollars) on blue ray(3800 yen for the regular one).Plus they have zero for 20000 yen(about 200 dollars) on blue ray.For regular they have zero 1 and 2 dvd for 3500 yen and 3 4 and 5 for 5000 yen.
I do not see why if you save up some money you couldn't easily get either series. It all depends on if you want something badly enough.I have gone out of my way to get the things i have.Yes i have had to save and gone without other things(american released products) to get what i want but it is worth to have it.
Edit:All these dvd's i have given prices are the legit ones.Meaning they are official releases.True non american legit ones but these are still orginial japanese legit ones.

That doesn't do you a lick of good if you can't understand the language, though. I'm not saying that you personally don't comprehend Japanese, but for the rest of us, importing isn't much of an option at all, no matter what series we're talking about. It's a rare Japanese release that has English subtitles, and a much rarer one that has English audio.
