Well, if romantic comedies are your bag (which, seeing that since you enjoyed Love Hina, Tenchi, Ranma, Chobits, and Ai Yori Aoshi, they are) then you should catch up on some of the other classics.

Maison Ikkoku, Urasei Yatsura, and Oh! My Goddess are all perfect series to watch. Urasei Yatsura practically invented the genre, Maison Ikkoku really showed how personal and poignant the genre could be, and Oh! My Goddess, well, it gave us some of the most memorable and enjoyable female characters ever plus probably one of anime's most enduring romances.

Also, as far as "slice of life" anime is concerned, you may honestly be interested in seeing Initial D. While you may or may not be a fan of auto racing, the racing is only half of the story of this great series. It's the story of young men and women finding their identity and working through the difficulties of growing up. Once you look past the fact that they're street racers, you see that the show's core ideas of friendship, courage, and personal honesty really make it an impressive show.

If you're more interested in something more recent (because the newest series I've named so far is Initial D from 1996) then definitely take a look at Onegai/Please Teacher. It actually comes pretty close to having Oh! My Goddess levels of quality storywise and character-wise, though the character designs aren't as memorable as OMG's.

Nothing could be as memorable as girls with geometric symbols in the middle of their forhead.

You might like Rune Soldier Louie... like Slayers, but funny....

And if it's slice of life you like, give Niea_7 a try.... no guarantees, though. Haibane Renmei is also quite the same, but not a comedy....

Neo-Ranga has a good bit of slice of life, actually.... and giant tropical gods, but hey....

Try FLCL... it's a good comedy. As is Abenobashi Magical Shopping District.

That's all that's popping out of my brain right now... need to go to bed.

As you rated Azumanga Daioh and Love Hina as some of your favourites, you might want to give Kare Kano a try which is a romantic comedy. It is one of my favourites and one of the best out there in its genre. You could also give Full Metal Panic! and the sequel FMP? Fumoffu a shot as well. There is romance, comedy and mecha. I personally prefered the sequel as it had more laughs and many more heartwarming moments.

Further, as you also enjoyed Trigun, you should go out of your way and get your hands on Cowboy Bebop. It is almost a must-watch series.

Spirited Away huh ? In that case, you should watch all of Hayao Miyazaki's other works. They are all just as impressive. You might also want to try out Haibane Renmei which could be compared to Spirited Away, albeit only very vaguely. Don't think I qualified that very confidently but if the supernatural is what interests you, you will like Haibane Renmei.

All you can say about GTO is that it's "excellent." Try "masterpeice." It's by far the funniest anime I've seen up this point, and I have it at #2 on my all time list.

I hear GTO live action is pretty good, but I haven't seen it yet, and don't know where you can get it.

Most of the other anime you've listed, I've also seen, but I can't think of any other comedies with slice of life/romance.

However, if you want an action/adventure, try Rurouni Kenshin or Inuyasha. They're more fighting oriented than what you might like, buy they've got their share of comedy here and there. By the way, Rurouni Kenshin is my #1.

Usually when someone says they want something like GTO, I say Goldenboy. You can get it pretty cheap on DVD now.

If you want something similar to GTO, check out Gokusen. That has a very similar plot only this time it's a woman who's a daughter of the Yakuza family.
