I'm relatively new to this message board but I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in watching anime with me and my girfriend. I figure the bay area really has no dominate club or anything like that so finding out new anime is a little hit and miss. I'm looking for people that have a good collection and are willing to bring their anime to share. Think of it as trying to establish an Anime night at someones house in the Bay area. Reply if interested.

A quick glance around showed Foothill Anime to be fairly close to the bay...
Didn't C/FO operate out of there, as well? |

There are several anime clubs in the bay area, Foothills Anime being one of them. There's also a few university ones... in fact, here's a link that lists a few of them:
http://www.koyagi.com/SFCulture.html#anchor111876 IIRC, the C/FO is (at least currently) run out of North Hollywood. |

I guess I need to be more specific I'm looking for things in the Eastbay Fremont San Jose area Foothill as at least an hour away and San Francisco is 45min to 1 1/2 away depending on the traffic. Come on people I have a lot of series to share with other people. I own Chobits, Nadesico, His and Hers Circumstances, Rahxephon, Blue Gender, YuYu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Ninja Scroll movie and the series (first two Discs), First 10 discs of Dragon ball GT, Boys over Flowers, Witch Hunter Robin and much more! I also have connection with people that go to China and regularly buy stuff there that is not available like Hunter X Hunter (til the Green Island OVA) and Gundam Seed! Just trying to find friends that share my interest!

On the Sakechan's list there seems to be a club in San Jose and one in Palo Alto. Either one should be close enough. In fact, living in California, there should be no trouble finding an anime club nearby.

Click the link for CA West in San Jose it is a dead link. I guess I should have mentioned this but I have looked at this list before and none of it really panned out.

Maybe instead of asking on a message board that probablly would only have a few people at the most in your town unless you lived in a huuuuge city, you could put something up on bulletin boards at a library or college etc. There are bound to be other anime fans in San Jose, but they might not necessarilly post on this board.

Well now, I guess we're neighbors. The two main Anime clubs in the San Jose area are Foothill Anime and No-Name Anime. Both are about 20-30 minutes away from Fremont. I live in San Jose, near the Milpitas border, and I know what a pain it is to get out to either of these places.
It might be interesting to set something up... what exactly are you thinking of doing? |

I live up in Vallejo, but I sometimes come down the 680 to Fremont. That's about as far south as I go though. I've got the whole set of Macross, and assorted others-- half of Berserk (the rest coming soon), Escaflowne, and the normal bigees-- Bebop, Bebop Movie, Millenium Actress, Spirited Away, etc.
As for viewing-- yeah, same question-- what would you particularly like to see or rewatch that you already own? You can also email me-- it's on my profile I believe. Steve |
