This was a good surprise for me. I wasn’t sure if more than two seasons would be possible. Looking forward to more adventures with Sunraku and the gang!

Can't wait for S3, GGC's arc was really good in the manga and Ctarnidd's fight is among the most strategy-driven boss i've seen/read in a while.

Considering the second season ended on a low note with nothing interesting happening it's not much of a surprise. Shame the next season will start with the game tournament instead in SLF.

The series seems super popular so I'm not shocked we're getting a third season. A little surprised it's been announced already, but I'm not complaining. Leaving off in the middle of an arc certainly isn't the best place to do have to stop a season so hopefully we can pick up with things soon. I doubt it will be as fast as the gap between seasons 1 and 2 but I don't think it will be that long. I am curious, how much of the series has been adapted now and how much is left?

I truly hope this doesn't mean that season 2 of Reincarnated as a Sword is going to be pushed further back.

Spoilered numbers
spoiler[At the time of this post, with 50 episodes, that puts us at about 126/215 manga chapters. It also corresponds to 163/939 webnovel chapters. Both formats are still ongoing.]

Surprised it'd be announced now. When I wikied before how far ahead the source was it didn't seem like there was enough for a season 3 to be adapted anytime soon (assuming 24/25 episodes).

Not surprised, but I’m pretty pleased. This current arc is just getting started.

I haven't watched the last ep yet, but great to see this confirmed as I presume none of the on-going arcs were resolved

At this point, safe to say it didn't get a sequel simply because it's committee didn't want to.

I'm glad more is coming as this has been one of my favorite recent shows. I can't imagine s3 will be out till next year at the earliest. Two cour a year seems like a good pace for this show.

But they announced a sequel. So unless the production committee wants to go back on their word, it's most likely coming out.

The fans have shown lately with several well-liked shows like Toilet Bound Hanako that 1-3 years wait are not a killer anymore, so with so many good shows going on they can afford to wait of opportune timing having already announced S2. I can be patient but really hope it will be sooner...
