Congrats to Horii for the award. He deserves it as one of the greatest Japanese creators of all time. Akira Toriyama won the Anime Merit Award last year and Koichi Sugiyama won the Person of Cultural Merit award back in in 2020. The legacy of Dragon Quest and it's creators can not be understated.
