The concept of a Friday night graveyard slot doesn´t exist in Japan but does anyone know why Dragon Ball is a midnight anime? Nothing unusual for harmless Jump (related) productions these days, Spy x Family is one, but Daima began life as a s children´s toy line commercial. I don´t get it. Super was broadcast on Sunday at 9:00 am. Sentai shows and current One Piece airs around that children´s time slot. The perfect place for Daima.

Presumably the very same reasoning that SpyXFamily had - the availability of very same timeslots, which are very, VERY limited outside of the late night for the anime - and most of them are already filled by usual suspects (for example - the slot at Sunday 9AM on which Dragon Ball Kai and Super ran is filled by Tousochuu: The Great Mission anime).

Yeah, I didn't know Blue Miburo was the timeslot's new occupant.

Pretty much this. Most networks don't wanna give Kids and General Audience shows the time of day anymore, resulting even stuff that is targeted to younger demographics or general audiences airing late night now. Tokyo Mew Mew New is the biggest example of this happening and it's just the reality of things. The biggest and most important thing is most younger demographics likely DVR or watch it on demand (TV outlets or Streaming services) nowadays, due to changing viewing habits, which may be why something like even Dragon Ball isn't as needed in a day time slot as it once was.
