It seems likely that there is a possibility for Prod IG and Netflix to do another season, but I imagine it is predicated on how well this does numbers wise. Netflix has certainly put a lot into this, not only dubbing the first 2 seasons but also the live action TV series.
This season covered 6 vols., up thru Vol. 18. If they did 2 more seasons at the same rate they could complete the series. I hope they do as this was excellent. |

I know she had some focus in the previous season but it would have been nice to see more of Kurumi. Her development is one of my favourite things about the series

Typically I'm not super fond of anime adaptations. Even those I really enjoy, I seldom rewatch -- the time investment relative to just rereading the original manga (or novel) is just too drastic.
Kimi ni Todoke is one of the very few, very rare exceptions to that rule. The anime is fantastic, and really does elevate the source material imo. Animation is great, and I just love the voice acting -- everyone (Sawako most of all) is just pitch-perfect. So, yeah, I'd love nothing more than to see another season. Though I can't say I'm too sad about how unlikely that continuation may be -- I love the end of the manga, but it's really just an (extremely) extended denouement, even if it does have some of my favorite character development moments in it. |

See, the anime was my first exposure to Kimi ni Todoke, and I loved Mamiko Noto's performance… but after reading the manga for a while, I started thinking she was miscast. Yeah, her voice works great for Sawako's personality. It's sweet, it's adorable, it's charming -- and that's the problem. Because it becomes a lot harder for me to believe the whole "Sadako" rep she has at the start when I can't believe someone wouldn't fall in love with her the moment she opens her mouth. The ship has long since sailed, but I think I might've liked to hear a version of Sawako performed by a VA like Mayumi Shintani or Chiaki Omigawa, with a more unconventional voice -- one that reflects Sawako's alleged "creepy" surface more than the personality beneath, to sell how remarkable Shota is for being able to see underneath. |

I get where you're coming from, but, personally, I can't agree.
When Sawako speaks "creepily," I think Noto's voice changes just enough for it to be believable -- I'm not sure how to best describe the change... her voice gets a little lower? A little breathier? A little monotone? I think if it were too different, or too creepy, it'd make the whole premise a bit more farcical. Unlike, say, Angel Densetsu, a core part of KnT's appeal is how grounded it is. And, frankly, it helps to highlight just how superficially her classmates are behaving. We've got a quiet student who doesn't speak much, doesn't communicate well when she does, and so her peers invent a personality to project onto her based solely on her physical appearance and most immediately apparent mannerisms. And, as someone who dealt with that very thing as a result of growing up with selective mutism, that is absolutely how these things work. It's not that her classmates are misunderstanding what kind of person Sawako is, it's that they're not making any effort to find out, and projecting an identity on her instead. The crux of the story -- and its greatest moral, in my view-- is that the only way to know who a person is... is simply to talk to them. And I think that, in service of that theme, it's good that Sawako's vocal performance can so quickly convey that, "Oh, she's just a nice girl." And I think it's important for Kazeya's character, too, that he befriends her not by being willing to overlook her "creepiness," but by able to look at her for who she is -- he's not a hero, just a normal kid. So, yeah, I think Noto's performance is pretty perfect for this story. |

Why are the episodes each 1 hour long? For plot heavy shows like Pluto or Helsing that makes sense but Kimi Ni Todoke gets me zoning out halfway through, something that didn't happen when I watched the prior seasons.

The excessive running time is what kept me from starting watching this new season until just a few hours ago. It was a delightful episode, but I would have enjoyed it just the same if they had split its contents in two or even three episodes. Thanks to the amount of shows I keep up with, I don't always have 67 minutes of free time to spend on a single episode of a TV show. |

I haven't read the manga (yet) but I adore the anime. This third season was of a piece in terms of quality and interest with the first two seasons. Didn't expect Kento to turn into such a stand-up guy. I really hope the rest of the manga gets adapted but if this is the end of the anime, I'm still satisfied. I feel a full story has been told (even without Chizuru and Ryu being "official" yet). This is one of those titles I know I will rewatch over the years and love it every time.
