This is honestly super cool, and I have no patience for people who are against it only because “comics and anime shouldn’t mix”. Shut up, they totally should mix more, you just lack imagination.

Kishimoto is a superhero fan and described his ninja as such in interviews. Naruto is one of the easiest manga to cross over with an American IP. The turtles also had more crossovers than even Batman at this point and he fought The Predator 3 separate times!

Can´t wait to see Ninku, the anime version is a key inspiration for Naruto, fighting the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters one of these days.

I'm just wondering why they didn't do this back in 2006 or so. It feels like a really obvious collab in retrospect.

Not a big fan of Naruto but I welcome this. Who knows, maybe Naruto will be fighting alongside the Justice League against Darkseid someday.

Whoa, this is one crossover I didn't expect to happen. But then again, TMNT crossover with Batman (which was also unexpected to me) along with the 2019 animated film adaptation. But I never imagine or would've thought that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Naruto would appeared on the same page.

Great, what's next? A Superman/Son Goku crossover (which could be a possibility)?

Well let see, back in 2006, anime in the US was still far from the mainstream compare to today. Manga (like anime) in the US market was still far from the mainstream, but have gained some or a visible level of popularity in the US at that time. No American comic book company back in 2006 would want to take risk of doing crossover with anime/manga (probably because the American comic book industry was still a big rival competition to manga) not until I think early 2010's and so on like for example WB doing the Batman anime anthology film, Marvel-Madhouse anime collaboration, and I think in 2014 the Attack on Titan-Marvel collaboration might have led to more US/Japan collaboration. Oh yeah, and there's the All-Might (from My Hero Academia) making a cameo in a Deadpool manga.

Hell, TMNT didn't started to incorporate anime tropes and qualities until I think very recently. So I guess these are the reason why TMNT and Naruto just started to crossover just now instead of back in 2006. So I hope that answer your questions.

Speaking of anime/manga and TMNT, that franchise has a interesting connection to Japan including the anime/manga medium. I think we all know about the anime OVAs that came out in 1996. Speaking of anime and given the sucess of Star Wars: Visions, I think this might be the right time for Paramount and Nickelodeon to maybe talk with Japanese studios and give TMNT the Halo Legends/Star Wars: Visions treatment for it given that anime anthology can fit well for our 4 lovely turtles if the Naruto/TMNT crossover will do well, and I hope this crossover comic get a Japanese translation to test the water to see if TMNT can get another hit in Japan.

I think a Justice League/Shonen Jump crossover would suffice. I mean seeing Goku fighting Darkseid would be something I would want to see, and also how many of us want to see Superman and Goku teaming up in an official crossover comic/manga. And I'm also down for a Legion of Super-Heroes/My Hero Academia collaboration if they can do it.

Holy crap I think this is our first official Manga/Comic crossover. Pretty huge news, I'm excited for this.

Hopefully this opens the door for more crossovers in the future, like a Superman/Dragon Ball crossover.

I'm really glad 2 of my childhood series getting a crossover collab! Naruto is one of the titles could fit well with western comics. Is thıs seriously the first time that we are getting a manga x comic crossover? This should've happened sooner!

The comic rights were in a weird spot at the time so that might be why.

Rather they shoot for Usagi Yojimbo since TMNT is kinda redundant. Know it’s a different thing but still.

I thought crossovers like this only occurred in fanfiction. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Naruto" crossing over is a thrilling and exciting event. Not only are both series ninja themed, but it opens the door slightly to other crossovers only dreamed of before like a possible "Dragon Ball"/"Justice League" crossover in which the Dragon Ball gang meets the Justice League and what it would be like to see Goku and Superman team up. This is special in so many ways,I can't believe it. I never thought this would actually happen.
Just like with the "Attack on Marvel" thing,I hope it raises the profiles of both series and I also think it's a good idea,as well.

Can't believe this is actually a thing that's happening but I hope they deliver on it.

I'm surprised they're setting it pre-time skip but I guess that makes it easier to use Sasuke and setting it after Tsunade shows up means Naruto has the Rasengan already.

I hope this leads to more Shounen Jump crossovers with IDW comics like TMNT, Transformers or maybe even Cartoon Network comics like Samurai Jack that IDW did back in 2013 nd with the Super Secret Crisis War crossover event.

I'd like to see Death Note crossover with IDW or Image. Though for now, definitely looking forward to reading the TMNT/Naruto crossover.

Usagi Yojimbo has not received any Japanese translation nor release in Japan as far as I know. So it wouldn't make sense for it to be adapted into a anime if it's not well-known or completely unknown in Japan.

TMNT can work as an anime because that franchise is already well-known and established in Japan, and they already have manga adaptation, and also a anime OVA adaptation. So it would make sense for TMNT to get a anime anthology adaptation in the style of Halo Legends/Star Wars: Visions because of that.
