This is great manga, if you have Shonen Mangaplus you can read all of it up to now. So far it's set up in several arcs, with Gero is helping some girl, learns new thing from his encounter (and often so does the girl), goes on date with her, and then goes on to new adventure while keeping friends (and potentially more) with previous girls, since he realizes it's too soon for him to commit to marriage the way he is now, and that saving a girl isn't solid foundation for relationship.

So, it's kind of like harem, but not really, since it's clear and reasonable why Gero doesn't propose to rescued girls, and all of the girls have their own lives before and after their arcs, in which meeting Gero is just one of its episodes, even if quite meaningful one. They also reappear sometimes, they're not one-time throw-away characters.

Also crossdressing guy is best girl, as best friend, wingperson, and hopefully one of the marriage candidates in the future. We already have cute gay couple with Gero's sister and her girlfriend, we can have second one to dunk on rest of his shitty family (not sister obviously).

I agree that Marriagetoxin is a great read. It won't change your life, but there is action, romance, comedy and MANY strange faces. And some common sense for dating and love (from Mei* and Gero)

Also, some scenes might looking shocking, but we're in a world with over-the-top villians and threats that Gero (and Kinosaki) will have to face.

Probably the anime is not too far.

* Best Kinosaki of the series.

I've been keeping up with this series on Manga Plus, and it is definitely one of my favorite things to come out of Jump+ (and even Jump overall) in years! It's an absolutely fantastic series that starts out a bit slow, but once the marriage hunting gets going, it really gets good, largely because of how they handle it.

While the setup might seem like a harem manga, it really isn't, and the main theme throughline is that building a relationship (whether that be a romance or just a plain friendship) is all about trust and communication. And it's great at giving each of the marriage candidates their own interests and lives outside of Gero. They feel like genuine people rather than cardboard cutout love interests!

Anyway, if anyone is on the fence about this, I recommend reading at least up to the end of the first arc, since volume 1 is really just mostly setup for the main premise.
