Was really happy when I caught this news earlier on r/Anime. I thought nothing could top the recent Ascendance of a Bookworm announcement, then this happens. There was also confirmation that the LN is out of hiatus and wasn't silently cancelled; with a new volume releasing on December 28. It's like double Christmas.

I was wondering when this would get animated.
Its about time. great story building, no overpowered bs (traditional sense) or game mechanics, it is more of political maneuvering and strategy building. As well as one of the most stable and healthy relationships ever portrayed in jp isekai media. You will have a fun and interesting time watching it, provided it is adapted accordingly. |

Ooh! Yeah, this is a good one. I wouldn't put it on par with The Apothecary Diaries, but it's from an era of Narou before it had quite swallowed its own tail to the degree it has post-Mushoku-Tensei (though most of the basic isekai patterns were already floating around, as you can see from cases like Knight's & Magic or Re:Monster), and there's a lot of really sincerely written court intrigue as our Wife Guy figurehead is forced to get more and more involved in things.
Spreadsheet updated; this is a row I was quite happy to add. |

I took a break after vol 5 came out and always told myself "you need to continue" when i see the title somewhere, i don't think it will reach this far, while not really surprising it's nice to finally get an anime.

I'm somewhat familiar with this one. He marries the girl right away spoiler[and they have a kid early in]. However I have to ask if later in the series he starts taking more wives as isekai these days are wont to do. I'd prefer a relationship that stays monogamous.

At the point I've read the manga up to… spoiler[One girl has managed to finagle her way into a concubine position -- the other one shown in the picture in the article. If it helps, she's pretty awesome. Others have tried, for political reasons, but so far nobody else has succeeded.] |

spoiler[This is still true in the latest LN volume. Definitely not a harem series like say, Realist Hero, where the protag collects women like Pokemon. :p] |

If anyone was planning on checking out the manga adaptation because of the anime announcement, I would like to warn that the manga's first page 100x hornier than the rest of the series, and is not representative of the kind of story the series is.

Both adult leads. Mature story. This is a great series. I really hope they could do it justice.

I'm following this one through the manga version, and have been saying for a year or more that it was overdue for an anime adaptation. Hence I am quite happy to see it finally get picked up.
Despite the corny name and the concept, it's actually one of the most cerebral of all isekai titles out there, with a heavy emphasis on the fine points of politics, statesmanship, and diplomatic relations. It also features a mature, stable central couple. May not be what you're looking for if if prefer more action-oriented series, but I can definitely recommend it to any other audiences. And yes, if it takes cues from the manga (as The Apothecary Diaries has been doing) then it will be a bit racy up front, but that becomes a very minor component over the long haul. |

It is very talky, with lots of political dialog and intrigue. I personally love that kind of stuff, but it is not for everyone, and it is not easy to adapt to anime. I was also initially skeptical of Frieren not being amenable to a quality anime adaptation (another talky story), but I was delightfully proven wrong. I'm hoping the same thing will happen here. |

Hey so uh, super important fix, but Imagica Infos is the publisher of Hero Bunko, not Kadokawa.
Kadokawa publishes the manga adaptation of Imagica Infos’ light novel. |
