I dug this show. The set-up reminded me more of Invaders of the Rokujouma than the shows mentioned in the review (as in, a bunch of character types from different genres are velcro patched together to see what happens).
And the narrator and the occasionally dark absurdity reminded me of Sabage-Bu! Survival Games Club.
But I liked and have missed both of those shows, and this anime brought its own unique charm to the table IMHO.

This was a show I looked forward to every week. And any show that has its audience looking forward to it has to be called a success.

This was definitely a hidden gem of the previous season I looked forward to the new episodes every week.

Glad this finally got some coverage! As others (and the reviewer) have said, this was a hidden gem that I was actively looked forward too every week. My favorite bits had to be anything involving Rikka secretly incorporating Revolutionary Education into the world.
The one I laughed at the most (that still makes me smile) is a 5 second gag when they show everyone's report card after the typical study cram anime trope. Rikka's grades are mostly average, except for the Revolutionary Education class, where she managed a 10 (out of 5). Don't know why I find it so hilarious, but I do.

I vaguely remember trying it, I think ep 1 was decent but ep 2 just went full fan service and joke vanished and it was just "aha girl have boob, watch them jiggle".

This anime was a dark horse of the season for me. Far from perfect, but really good comedy that knew how to make non-repetitive jokes from its premise.
To bad the nime seems to fail commercially as the manga ended shortly after despite already beiong pretty short.

I got through the first five episodes of this one, and did find it to be consistently funny, but this ultimately became a "season too packed" casualty for me over the long run. Since the review makes it sound like the series maintained its level humor, I will probably go back and finish it when I hit the lull at the end of this season.

I wouldn't say it was my favourite of the season, but I definitely enjoyed it (almost) every week. I've long had a weak spot for wacky students, and it's been a while since I watched one. It's good to see I wasn't the only person who liked it.

It was cute, fun, and definitely worth watching. There aren't enough shows like it.

The review made me take a look at this series, which I’d neglected. The humor in the first episode seems a bit broad for my tastes, but there was a laugh-out-loud moment with the surprise “the end/cut to ED” moment a few minutes into the episode, so I’ll give it a few more episodes.

This was a fun series, overshadowed in a season packed with top-tier shows. It had me smiling and laughing every week.
Review wrote: | Boy at a girls' school? Been there, done that, usually with a number of tasteless "fox in the henhouse" jokes. |
This could've gotten messy in a different show, but here Tsuyoshi has no romantic interest in anyone at the school, and the friendship between the four "girls" remains platonic, which works out well for this show.

The premise and the promise that it should be humorous kept me watching through maybe three episodes, but ultimately, I just didn't find it funny enough.
If you did, I'm happy you found something you liked.
