I wonder if Viz will simulpub it? I know they didn't for Part 8, but it premiered a year before the 2012 anime came out and made the series as popular with English-speaking fans as it is now. I think it would be wise to stay on top of things while they're still two Parts behind.

And when Part 8 is indeed important to understanding Part 9 what then?

Viz don't even have the rights for Part 7, let alone Part 8, and they just started releasing chapters of Part 6 on their SJ site/app.

They do One Punch Man, Choujin X and Kubo-san, which are seinen manga that are published on the SJ app. I think they also did Tokyo Ghoul too, I'm not sure about that.

Tokyo Ghoul wasn't simulpub'd, it was added to the digital archive in batches.

The better comparison is previous Ultra Jump series (the magazine). Viz has licensed a handful series from that magazine, but the only one they make available on the SJ subscription was the Rwby manga, which to my knowledge was not simulpubbed. Other series such as No Guns Life, Levius, and Terraformars were licensed by Viz, but were never made available on their subscription.

The recent Parts have been more self-contained than Parts 1-6 were.

I'm aware, but I think it's a pretty safe bet they will eventually license them. I mean, it's doing so well they're doing an early digital release of Stone Ocean while the physical volumes are still on Golden Wind. That's not something they'd do for a poor seller.

Hmm, I wonder if this will continue the Steel Ball universe or conclude it...

It's nice to see Araki still going strong with JoJo even if the anime is officially over (for now).
