Quite weird since I also was under the impression it was canceled especially since the lead actor Justice Smith said it a year ago. Reading this https://www.nme.com/news/film/detective-pikachu-star-says-the-films-sequel-has-been-scrapped-2935243 you get the impression that people may have overreacted since it wasn't the producer or director who said it but people still believed it was true. In fact it says it was on hold, not cancelled so this was because of what Justice Smith said and people just rolled with it. Anyway this is great news since I loved the first movie so more is welcomed |

Looks like Ryan Reynolds is turning into a Pikachu again.
Honestly, I'm glad to hear this didn't get canceled. I really liked watching the first one. |
