This should be interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing how all of the original 2D designs will translate into a 3D world.

I know the kneejerk reaction is, "oh no, 3D bad," but at this point we've had a number of 3D anime films that turned out very well. Dragon Ball: Super Hero was pretty damned, good, and Lupin the Third: The First was positively brilliant.
The First is, I think, especially useful to keep in mind, as it features a similarly uniquely stylized aesthetic as Shin-chan. If the former can look so good animated in 3D, so can the latter. So, yeah, color me optimistic.

And this is a Shin-chan movie so it's not targeted at you

Can't say I enjoy 3DCG anime very much, but I don't think it matters all that much for a title such as Shin-chan. I do think it can be pretty interesting though, since we might see actual budget animation instead of superfluous motions, but I don't believe the model quality for both characters and environments will be worth much, but we'll see.
Still, if the article's image is something to go by... this looks like a weirdo mix of stylized characters, "realistic" lighting, and some combination of shading techniques that will not be reminiscent of many previous CG art styles, so this is going to be fairly strange to watch for sure... then again, it's just a still, maybe it feels like clay figures in motion, we can only wait and see. But this still doesn't feel like a style that works for the target audience at a first glance, the colors don't feel very saturated, the shadows and lighting are very smooth, and this is not something that children (including teens) tend to enjoy that much, but again, in motion this could feel very different.

And so are many other things and yet people whine about it, and apparently businesses listen, or things wouldn't be as they are.

I'm not averse to CG, but it's not something I think people would associate with Shin-chan.

Hey, it worked for Doraemon. Though I, too, generally prefer 2D.

Why are people saying this isn't for #rajsaha, maybe they are huge Shin Chan fans.

Shin-chan is a perfect vehicle for 3DCG. The designs are simple and iconic just like Doraemon, and while I didn't watch the Doraemon film the pictures I saw from it looked incredible. I remember that staff also did work on season 2 of Osomatsu-san and it was adorable.
I know this is a different company so I have no clue how this'll turn out but it absolutely has potential to be super charming and fun.

I think it's because Shin-chans style seems to be being off model, which is not something you get in CG as you're not switching out models each frame.
