I wish this show had more episodes like the panties one, which was a thing of beauty. It milked as much hilarity as possible from that one-joke premise, and the fact that those citizens could preternaturally tell someone was wearing underwear just by looking at them and got mortally offended never ceased to make me laugh.

I was also surprised how much I liked the show. The gun wizard is a fine example of likable gay tsundere, the Mental Parliament episode took the obsessed lesbian trope and made it actually funny with all the real-life political discourse, and the CG quality isn't bad enough to be unbearable. The whole interrogation of bound female prisoner scene with usual dark undertones which are then completely broken by the comedic ineffective penguin slap made me laugh too.
I invite people to try at least up to the second episode with Yakuza Mahou Shoujo before deciding if you like it, first episode isn't really crazy enough to sell people on it's bonkers charm.

I would say there were a couple of earnest moments with the teacher from the first episode and the yakuza boss from the second, which I thought were okay, but in general the show is clearly aiming for chaotic comedic energic every week rather than anything else. If that's the primary goal, then I think it's been working out pretty well.
For example, the penguin episode was kind of brilliant, especially since the punchline can be read as a not too subtle jab at capitalism, given how more "freedom" doesn't necessarily lead to more dignity in the context of the market. True "art" indeed. Anyway, I hope we can all agree that penguins are funny.
As with all such things, the end result depends both on the cast interactions and whether the humor is subjectively appealing to the viewer or not. Right now, it's been amusing enough to be worth a casual watch at least. I have no real issues with the use of 3D myself, but I can also tell that will remain a stumbling block for other anime fans since it's relatively middle of the road in technical terms.

Based off the synopsis this series could have easily been a overly serious edge-fest, crammed to the rafters with half-baked social and political statements about freedom and oppressive governments etc... but it went it a different direction and I love it. I look forward to this every week because I have no idea what I'm about to bear witness to but I know it'll be absolutely bat-shit.

Ok. What the fudge. Literally. What. The. fudge. Is. This. Show.
Based on the synopsis I thought it would be something closer to Akudama Drive. Not, whatever the fudge this show actually is. I'm going to have to check it out because of how utterly absurd this show seems to be.

I really do wonder if this is going to be one of the shows the ANN reader base now regrets not voting enough for this to get weekly episode reviews. This show sounds hilariously bonkers.

I'm regretting that now.
Judging from the screenshots it looks a bit ugly, but it also sounds like something I should at the very least watch one episode of.
