cool, the implications of this are really good.

first, mushoku tensei has a lot of side stories, so the studio confirming they will work in ovas opens a door for them, as some of them don't fit a tv series format. eris one is the less problematic of them, but there are others that are just retellings of what we already saw but under a different pov,. so they kind of stall the pacing or become redundant.

others have just weird pacing ,.like the goddess rain chapter, which is too short for an episode, too long to bw throwaway, too verbose for an intro.

First, tht new key visual loomks sick

Second, its great that they are adding this new unaired eisode. Fans were very concerned they wouldn't show the Eris POV stuff since its actually quasi important to future stuff (as in possible season 2 stuff). I just hope Funimation airs it

That's good news. I was sad to see that the anime skipped that and everything that called back to it, since I found the chapters where Rudeus isn't the POV character on average the most enjoyable part of the LNs.

That happened the next day. The day in question is the one where Rudy *first* met his father, not the day his father came to Rudy to apologize, though maybe they'll show that part of what happened with Eris as well.

most of the time we don't get these "lost episodes" on streaming sites the series are on because they are not apart of the contract for streaming rights, sometimes we don't get them on the home video releases for the same reason, other times is due to how late the "lost episode" takes comes out in japan, so its not ready in time for western release

Hi-Dive/Sentai are actually one of the best companies i've seen for getting lost episodes and OVA specials on there streaming platforms and Home Video releases.
