Was Matsuoka not already an established character in Pokemon?
I'm kind of curious how many other roles Suzuki might lose. I guess it depends on when the production of some sequel stuff needs to get the voice acting done and if he's not recovered by then.

Matsuoka has not played a major character in Pokemon so far. Seiyuus in Pokemon have played more than one major character including Suzuki himself who played Barry in Diamond and Pearl.

Oh god I hope this doesn't affect his role as Anos or even just the anime itself

He’s being replaced because he’s on hiatus (presumably requested by his company), so obviously since they can’t get him back they need to replace him.
Hopefully Maou Gakuin knows to just delay the series until he’s back and available to work again, because half that show’s amazingness was carried by that man.
Reminder that Hitoshi Kamiya also was cheating on his wife years ago, and now years later is working again like nothing happened at all, I can’t imagine it’ll go any differently for Suzuki.

Are we talking about Kamiya or Daisuke Namikawa? I think it only came out that Kamiya is married...or are we thinking of Nobuhiko Okamoto where the revelation of his marriage came about in light of it being exposed that he was cheating on said wife?
I think it's a bigger deal in Suzuki's case if only because of how popular LiSA is.

It baffles me how they get married (be it low or high-profile), then it comes out that they are found to be cheating. A minor fling is hard enough to explain but when its literally an ongoing relationship on the side it comes off as greed (they want the benefits of a married life and being single at the same time). I doubt Lisa is an awful person in private unless she masks it really well (by now we'd have heard about anti-social behaviour or similar in some form).
Perhaps the hiatus is to allow Suzuki to repent for his cheating and see if he can save his marriage (I thought he might have had greater discipline but the truth shows otherwise).

It's funny how in the West we all agree that carriers ending in Japan because of drug is stupid, but we don't all agree about people cheating with each other. It sounds like it's also seen as a big deal in the US, while here in France we honestly don't care THAT much about it, outside of gossiping

With how many roles Suzuki is losing and the hiatus, I can totally smell a divorce coming. Even LiSa forgives Suzuki, I doubt she will be happy with someone that is almost effectively cancelled from the entertainment industry.
As for people just moving on, it is a lot different now in Asia where woman have more of a voice now, and just how popular LiSA is. You can get in trouble with the police if you ever get accused of a panty shot even without evidence. The burning sun scandal even ended with people in jail.

No? I think that makes sense and wish America took drugs more seriously rather than glorifying them and celebrities and singers making them seem cool and getting kids into them. It's kind of nice to see celebrities being held accountable for things for once.

Well, if you Americans want people being accountable for once, how about putting more emphasis on ethics education in your schools, rather than hypocratically trying to enforce such values in your media and in your laws, uh?
